This thing looks like a beast apart the 4gb of ram. Still, 1000eur is too much for this kinda of phone, any kind of phone as a matter of fact. The price should be around 600eur with tax.
1000$ for this garbage just because it has Samsung logo on it! If you are in market for a rugged phone you better off checking ulefone or balckview they offer so much for the buck
When is this phone coming???
First it said February, then March, and now April... GSM Arena; could you find out?
I've been searching this phone pretty much every day since two weeks, and it looks that in Germany, a company named TASSTA is already taking preorders. They say they've the exclusivity in Germany, so I hope this phone goes all over the world and doesn't get stuck as exclusive just in two or three countries.
The thing is that I like its large battery, a screen that doesn't try to get to the edge and is not too big. And the front physical buttons, I hate the "all has to be touchscreen", I like my front buttons.
Yeah, there's the Xcover X4s, but if I'm buying a new phone I'll try to buy the one I like the most, and this is pretty much everything I could wish. I don't care about the camera, with 3GB of RAM I'm more than happy (I've been living with 2GB just fine).
The price tho... hurts. I hope there will be a consumer version without any emergence/communication service that I think they're packing it with and then make it cheaper, but I've my doubts.
Bat21, 10 Mar 2020I am beginning to wonder if this phone is ever going to be released! You don't like this one made for consumers?

saw this on the USA website now I don't have to read the German Samsung website. ;-)
Bat21, 10 Mar 2020I am beginning to wonder if this phone is ever going to be released! My thoughts exactly. I've begun to research competitor rugged phones. If Samsung was more forthcoming with a release date I might cut them some slack. However, they're just being too tight-lipped. I may be giving up on Samsung this time.
I am beginning to wonder if this phone is ever going to be released!
Mark_S, 27 Feb 2020Galaxy S7 Active the Redux I wonder will there ever be an galaxy s8 active redux!?

nikodll, 20 Feb 2020According to this german article: https://news.samsung.com/de/samsung-launcht-das-galaxy-xcove... moreThanks for the link! Hmm, distributed by some B2B communications supplier - might make it difficult to get for an individual. Not something one will find on Amazon, but usually there will be some company willing to sell to private people. Price sounds bad, but is not unusual in that area, could even be seen as fairly decent compared to something like a Motorola LEX.
As an aside, damn, that article is some seriously bad case of Denglisch, littered with unnecessary anglicisms in in order to sound... international? Like some wannabe MTV host? I'd be embarrassed to publish something like that. :D

"The ruggedized device will be available from March 2020, the recommended retail price (RRP) is 1,199 euros."
This phone does exist. There's an Australian seller on Ebay that has it listed at an obscene price. Tutorial videos from AT&T specifically for this phone are posted on YouTube. I'm convinced that it just isn't available to the public - like the person from Korea below said, it's likely in use at different agencies that employ people working in various blue collar field positions.
Tac, 18 Feb 2020No way...this looks like the galaxy s7 active upgrade! Where can I find this phone!?After waiting for four months I'm convinced that it doesn't actually exist.
