Anonymous, 20 Apr 2020What to buy if this costs over 700 usd to import? This limited availability sucks.you can go with an Samsung S10+ with a Otter box case and its pretty bullet proof phone. which what I was going to do. [But you cant change the battery :-( ]
As there are lost of deals with phone companies as they are getting rid of this stock now for the S20's. I don't like the rounded sides of the screen (too easy to crack on a drop) and no battery removal on the S10 plus.

I'm about to replace the BB Android phone abandoned by BB with another mainst... moreI have had notes 1, 3 and 4. An Samsung S-8 that a work phone that I used in buildings and my daughter has a J-3 prime and we never had issues with coverage with Samsung.
I taken my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 around the world. I was in Mexico in this March 2020 and it handled calls on the Mexican network no problem and long distance calls back to Canada and USA. Two years ago I used it no problems with calls in Italy.
I do not anticipate call issues with this Xcover Pro phone when I eventually activate it

Cancelled my order for a Samsung S10+ and returning it to Telus for the Xcover Pro. But will use my note 4 for the next few months or unless I can sell it. I might just keep it as a my camera. Since the Xcover camera may not be that great compared to my note 4 imho

Anon, 25 Jan 2020If only Samsung made a smaller version of this phone.Smaller? I wish it was 6.9" 6.3 is pretty small though with the slightly enlarged frame and a flat screen that will help it feel bigger I guess. It's just so narrow at that lame 20.5:9 resolution(god I hate that!).....

ADVICE REQUIRED
I'm about to replace the BB Android phone abandoned by BB with another mainstream Android one. Samsung with a Knox seems OK.
The problem with Samsung is that most of them have crappy mobile network signal handling.
I live in a rural area with a terrible network coverage. BB phones work OK, modern LG work superb, most of Snapdragon Samsungs have .... no network at all.
Can I buy Xcover Pro, which meets most of my requirements, without worrying about the cellular network reception? Serious answers are welcome!

I Was talking about A - series that was ip68 too, and they have ois in 2016 , and now they dont have ip68, they not metal but plastic, they dont have ios and they are much expensive. The phones after 2018 sucks.

"no ip68" MIL-STD-810G standard eats ip68 protection for breakfast
"no glass and metal but plastic" yo can pretty much shove those in the place the sun doesn't shine, Its a work phone for people who work outdoor/factory/building site. how long do you think metal and glass lasts you reckon in those environments? 3 months tops
Half price of a premium phone that you wont be so sad to see destroyed within 6 months

Even they give more dark aperture to the cameras... i dont know what to change from my A5 2017 ... I dont want to pay 3x more for Note or S line phones with shitty battery life, or older with dead android support. I need ip68 I work in rain.

Samsung own website says it has virtual light sensor so not actual sensor but uses camera. Just tested and seems its so. Have this as work phone and A70 as own, and battery seems last quite similary. Solid phone, like it

I have solar powered casio watch, and im using the Light sensor for calculating the time for full charge of the watch and to find thw best position/angle to the sun. :)
