Anonymous, 22 Jan 2020Back cover peels off like plastic or tape. Based on pcmag's youtube video. That looks like a similar type of cover as on the XCover 4S. There are lots of little hooks holding it in place. The fit seems secure, but I admit the bendiness does not exactly inspire confidence; this is rather thin plastic. Still, if it passed the ruggedness certifications, I would hope it is fine.
Found this phone after searching YouTube for 'Mobile Removable Battery'. Looks like a good phone. I'm keen on getting this one eventually to replace my Samsung Galaxy S2.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2020Guys, according Samsung's commercial video this phone have an AMOLED display. And according to the spec list on their website it is TFT. So either Samsung's video or Samsung's website is wrong. Tech news sites overwhelmingly say TFT/LCD - several sites who reported AMOLED initially (like Tom's Guide and The Verge) have since retracted this, so to me TFT seems more likely.

Vl, 18 Jan 2020Samsung S10e + rugged case for drop protection is probably superior in all aspects but battery life?Battery life terrible 4.5 - 5h of SoT ... my 2 years old A5 can get at least 7h to 8h. If s10e would have better battery then I will choose it, but now im thinking only on xcover pro. Battery life is very important for me. And swiching the battery in the field, I love it!

Plastic I guess? This is what Blackberry Z10 could have been like 5 years ago.
Clove Technology is already accepting pre-orders in UK for single sim version for the price of £474.98. Availability is 1st March. The specification page says IPS LCS display... if that is the case...I will settle for S8 Active which has an AMOLED display and cost only £240.

Love the idea of a ruggedized mid-spec phone. I don't need teh best scr333nz0r or a massive camera. I just need a phone that is durable and can be maintained by me.
