Real world usage.
Still have not gotten a spare battery yet, but have not needed to.
I have had it in my ski jacket while skiing in cold temperatures all day and it has had plenty of charge left at days end. Taken a few pictures, and made a few calls from the ski mountain top. Compared to my wife's phone which died power wise before noon.
I have gotten used to the camera and I am now taking better pictures with it. (But I will never, never Samsung for skipping on the optical zoom feature here....EVER!! ;-) )
My AccuBattery app says the battery when is at 94% charged.
I will have 46 hours and 8 mins of power with the screen is off and phone is on standby.
16 hours and 11 mins with 50/50% screen on/off use.
7 hours and 7 mins with the screen on constantly.
After almost 10 months of medium to heavy use, a lot of Zoom calls..(Thanks Covid), YouTube videos, some playing games (Armada modern tanks) plus email and regular calls and texts. the battery health is at 86% or estimated battery capacity is 3402mAh ( for some reason this app puts my battery original design capacity at 3950 mAh and not the Samsung specs of 4050 mAh.
It still works fine for me as expected and does what I need. Even a fair number of drops with an Otterbox case on it. I have a crack on the glass screen protector, but on the screen. l like the push button on the top of the phone for turning on or off on the flashlight. Though I had the flashlight get bumped on in my pocket in that mode. Good thing I have a big battery!!
Jack, 11 Aug 2020The Samsung website states - Testing methods include a drop test on a plywood impact surface o... moreDropped mine out my hand at shoulder height onto a concrete sidewalk surface last summer, Only one scratch on the plastic corner (this was before I put the otterbox cover). So 1.3 meter drop. It has been working with no issues ever since. So I say its specs are fine. :-)
Jaro, 24 Jun 2020Thats sad to hear :( I remember when I go from J5 2015 to A5 2017, pay more than 2x of the J5 ... moreYes, That was my thoughts. I could not have been too hard for Samesung to put into this XCover Pro the same camera system as the note 4. Then it would be perfect, rugged camera. We will see what the phone manufacturers come up in future rugged, battery removable phones. When someone comes out with a good quality camera with optical telephoto zoom (periscope?) and to add into the mix. That will sell.
If your a hiker you want to take picture of the scenery and with optical zoom you can zero in on the area you want.
But I knew the camera specs on this phone before buying and said looks like I am buying a dedicated camera for picture taking, being able to take fast pics, telephoto options and filters and etc

It knocks out back machinery ground noise and work as ear protection that way. I find the sound quality of the ear phones, when playing music and podcasts is just fine.
I do use the blue tooth for the a stand alone speaker. So you should have no problem with blue tooth earphones, so you get the best of both worlds.

Got it now 👍
I just swipe up randomly on the screen, no specific area. Works for me. (Maybe I misunderstand the issue?)
Sometime when my finger are not recognized the phone I ask for a pin code.
I have not found a way to swipe to enter the pin.
Has anyone ?
brilliant tech. use it outside in the snow, rain, dirt, with gloves on, everything works all the time. and its a phone too.
I have just upgraded to Android 11. Seems alright so far. It took a few reboots until the phone remembered about its microSD card, which messed a bit with apps that have data there - now my music player will spend some time rebuilding its 40K track database...

Gestures also suck compared to physical buttons.

'Most people don't get it '
Xcover pro mobile phone is simply great in so many ways.
So many that it's hard to grasp for many.
Its It's a risky phone due mediocre 64 GB and some.bands missing.in 3G amd.4G network
Missing physical buttons for home/menu/back ... what a joke. The project manager should be fired, Xcover brand means a tough usable phone in difficult conditions, that's why we need physical buttons. Xcover pro should be like 4S or field pro with the screwed back cover, but with the extra cameras + thermal maybe. They had the perfect design with the xcover2 then they just got worse and worse. And this is just another phone with an unreplaceable hard case.
Most people just do not get it.
What we are seeing is a whole new direction for smartphones that could entail a much more environmental and ecosystem friendly direction that we all should support.
A way that could lead us away from excessive exploitation of the earth's limited resources.
Why people don't support repairability and longevity will be asked by our children and their children.
Wake up folks.

I bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro from Amazon with a 30 day return policy (to use with Verizon because Verizon didn't have any available yet) when it first came out based on reviews and it being designed for Military, Law Enforcement, and Worksite Uses, better able handle rugged use, cool Bixby stuff, alleged programmable buttons, great camera, and other bells and whistles. Sounds like the perfect phone for anyone really. ADVERTIZED as completely compatible with every cell phone provider's service. The first thing Samsung, Amazon, and Verizon do not tell you or make public knowledge is that you cannot download from the Google play store many of your favorite Verizon apps that would have come preloaded if you bought the exact same phone through Verizon. The second thing they don't tell you is that none of the work around alternate apps you so diligently search to find on the play store will sync or work properly with the phone, or other Verizon apps that are available, or their service without freezing your phone at times, or taking over so much control of your whole phone, and requiring you to give up all your privacy that they make your new $500+ phone useless except to make phone calls. And those not without issues as well. And that it will take you more than 30 days to find all this out which is past your return date. So my advice is, if you like certain apps preloaded by any provider and the phone NEVER BUY AN UNLOCKED PHONE FROM A NON PROVIDER OR MANUFACTURER. ALWAYS BUY FROM THE SERVICE PROVIDER. The provider phone can be unlocked around 60 days after purchase anyway. Oh and this zoomy cool phone is now nowhere to be found as being touted to be what it was a few months ago. But I had to have it at the time because it worked with my Bluetooth Phonak VA issued hearing aids and the app they upgraded to not work with my LG G5 even though it claimed to be compatible with it. So, BUYER BEWARE of the deception by omission everywhere you turn.

It's a scam.
Citation from SAMMOBILE:
All in all, it’s a phone designed for first responders and enterprises first and foremost, but anyone who’s looking for a rugged device with a removable battery can buy and enjoy the XCover Pro as long as they don’t expect flagship-grade performance.
It's simply a great mobile to use.
This phone is awesome for business use and manufactures but I have been told by Samsung this phone NOT FOR normal consumer use because some features might not available similar to other Samsung phones.
Aloha
I love Xcover pro,
I already have received one security update since Oct. 28 2020
