Apple will also sue NASA for using non-American brand smartphones.
NASA is aiming to launch a line of small satellites called “PhoneSats” that are cheaper to make and easier to build than those it has produced in the past. To achieve this, engineers are using unmodified Android smartphones — in one prototype, HTC’s Nexus One, and in another, Samsung’s Nexus S — to perform many of a satellite’s key functions.
As NASA explains on its website, these off-the-shelf smartphones “offer a wealth of capabilities needed for satellite systems, including fast processors, versatile operating systems, multiple miniature sensors, high-resolution cameras, GPS receivers and several radios.”
“This approach allows engineers to see what capabilities commercial technologies can provide, rather than trying to custom-design technology solutions to meet set requirements,” NASA adds.
The total cost for building one of these prototype satellites costs a mere $3,500. Three are expected to launch aboard the first flight of Orbital Sciences Corporation’s Antares rocket from a NASA flight facility at Wallops Island, Va., later this year.

safipak, 21 Aug 2012Hi everyone.. I am facing a problem, my phone was mistakenly locked due to incorrect attempts... moreI work for Best Buy Mobile and that same exact thing happened to me about four months ago. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is take it to your carrier's store or Best Buy and what they'll do is a factory reset on your phone. But don't be too alarmed, Google has all of your pictures, applications, and contacts already saved so when you log back into gmail after the reset all the settings will go back to factory. Your text messages will have been wiped however you will be able to have access to your phone again and all of your important information will still be there.
Love this phone but I have a problem something is wrong with my memory chip and I can't get to my photos not sure how to check to see if they are backed up bc the phone will not power on to the home screen
I am facing a problem, my phone was mistakenly locked due to incorrect attempts, now my phone shows google username and password but wifi is turned off.
Please help me
had this phone for a year and a half and have prety much loved it. The most importatn thing for me is the camera, and not only is it a decent camera with editing settings - the storage space is crazy! My bf has the latest iphone and it can only store 600 pics. my phone has currently stored 5352...and still counting! memory = amazing! and the camera is very very good for a phone.
its very stylish and sleek and pretty easy to use
The downsides would be that internet can be a little slow if you arnt conneed to wifi or 3G... and the battery uses a lot of power ( but thats the same with any smartphone)
The only other negative i have is that smartphone chargers are horrific! I have had to buy 5 since i got my phone a year and a half ago..and at £20 a time, thats expensive
