Samsung announced its Samsung Health SDK suite as a comprehensive solution to bring advanced data from Galaxy Wearables to researchers and developers around the world. The SDK is split into four categories and is now available to Samsung partners, developers, and researchers.

Sensor SDK unlocks the advanced BioActive sensor algorithm from the Galaxy Watch series which offers heart rate, skin temperature, electrocardiogram (ECG), and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). The SDK will offer access to Photoplethysmogram (PPG) Infrared (IR) and Red LED sensor data for the first time.

Data SDK opens up the health metrics gathered by Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Ring, smartphones, and third-party devices inside the Samsung Health app. It will give developers access to sleep, exercise, blood pressure, food intake, and blood glucose levels. Samsung says this feature is going live next month and will enable devs to launch new healthcare services.

Accessory SDK will allow integration between Samsung smart devices and third-party health systems like heart rate monitors, blood pressure monitors, bike sensors, and even glucose monitors. Users will be able to see data from third-party devices inside the Samsung Health app without the need to download and activate third-party apps.

Research Stack is Samsung’s open-source project which aims to bring a “versatile research environment” by providing a web portal and backend services to support health research developments. Samsung says the upcoming 2.0 version will integrate data from the Sensor and Data SDKs.
