I love this phone. I tried an HTC One v and an HTC Incredible and it, by far, out-performs either. It's smaller, faster, much better battery life....and it works well as a phone, too. The HTCs get very little from Verizon in my home, but the Samsung Illusion get 4-5 bars...same setvice...go figure...better phone! I hope his one lasts a long time!
Anonymous, 21 Oct 2012This is not a gsm device it will not work .... What does this meanIt means that it runs on CDMA, which means no SIM card.
Was wondering if this phone has a front facing camera also? It looks like there is one there but cant find out how to use it...
Pretty snappy phone. But it seems to be un-rootable by anything. This phone has some serious development potential because it has two different download modes, and a recovery mode. It seems to be locked down pretty tight, making things really tough to work on. I hope devs on xda will be able to work on something to st least get root going.

AfXv237, 23 Nov 2011it's good that it's made for America. :Dyou meant it's made for CDMA carriers users, not America.
Don't be fooled into thinking because the Xperia ray is one of the smaller size smartphones, it's not gonna be full with top spec technology, brings together the, amazing Bravia Engine, used in Sony's HDTV,and brings crisp clear images, that seen on your HDTV's, and there's more, it also uses the Exmor-R sensor, that is used on Sony's Cybershot camera, so at 8.1 mesgpixels it's able to produce high quality picture even in low lighting, it also has a front facing camera aswell,
I love my Ray, i love the size, it's weight its not heavy but has that feel of quality, the notification light is on the front of the phone in the semi-circle, it's got a 3.5 mm jack for headphones, The Xperia has taken advantage of Andriod Gingerbread software, with swpe texting, Google Navigation, inside Facebook were your photo Gallery on yourt phone pulls your pictures from fackbook so they can be viewed on yor phone, or share your music you or your friends post on Facebook, and they abilty to take panoramic photo's in both 2D or 3D, and all you need to do is save phone 3D shots to a PC and put it on a memory stick, then into your 3D TV, i would recommend this phone to anyone.
This is a good phone for the low-range androids. It is better that Ace and Gio ... so, I don't see why it should not have its own place among the others.
It is mentioned above that Data: No GPRS and No EDGE, which is mentioned wrongly or true? But HTML browser is available.
