Anyone, If I buy this phone, in Delhi, India if I can use GPS without paying anything?? Else please advise which other options are available. I don't wanna pay for using GPS.
well, first thing i would like to ay is that all the points you have mentioned are wrong because, the phone didnt restart even one time with me! and the battery life is great, also the gps is better than nokia and it works like a dream!mmm about thw wifi i think you have a computer? but the wifi in the phone is like any other phone that has same feature, the camera is good and the sound quality is superb!really great phone and im waiting for the g810 to get it! thank you samsung..
I bought the i550w at Sunway on the 18th Feb 2008. I loved the phone as it had everything one can ask for in a Smart Phone. On the 19th Feb 2008, I discovered that the i550w re-started itself about 10x in a day and the GPS did not work and the NavFone software was not installed. I sent the phone back to FMG on the 19th Feb 2008. They kept the phone for 15 days and could not find a solution to the problem. I also bought the Anti-Virus from KaperSky for Symbian 60 3rd Edition and the software did not work. Thank god when I explained the situation to Kapersky, they gave me a refund USD 29.95. Finally today 5th March 2008, FMG told me that the GPS cannot work and they are refunding me RM1900 in 30 days time. Prior to this I also downloaded several .sisx applications but none could work with the i550w. Even the Samsung PC Suite which came with the phone was corrupted and I had to download it from samsung.com.my which only had the manual and the PcSuite Software. In short, its a nice phone but it cant work. It restarts every now and then, GPS doesnt work, WiFi signal not strong enough and battery life sucks. So, I dont think the i550w rocks. If you think it does, then good for you.
I've read somewhere on the net - engadgetmobile... It said that there is a blue card inside the box where we need to scratch in order to get the license key for the navigation software.
Is it true?
By the way, can please anyone tell me where I can get this phone in Klang Valley, Malaysia

Can the camera shutter sound be turned off? Also, does this phone have a TV out feature? Is this phone comfortable to use when texting?
i bought that phone from 3 days ago, and im not happy with it. First i have one big problem with it, that it restarts so much it by it ownself :-s second its network is very poor and its battery is very poor also as all other samsung devices , im seriously thinking to sell it and buy a SE mobile , i had SE w810i and for honesty that mobile rocks its very good but it had been stolen from me, anyway if anyone knows how to fix this problem. Just tell me my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi Guys. Just got the phone. Like it more than my N82. One question where can i download the user manual to this phone?
it has WiFi. FMG only carries that one with WiFI. Hence, we do not have i550 and i550w in malaysia
"Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g (Samsung i550w only)" if ALL i500 have it then why did gsm say this?
really, after using NOKIA for more than 10 years, now i must say, ITS ONE OF THE BEST CELL`S EVER..especially with Nokia software
can anyone tell me if this phone can move sms's from the sim memory to phone memory and vice versa. Also does the wi-fi have a strong signal? thanks!!!
because this isn't a support forum. it's a place to post reviews and opinions. JEEZ.
I just bought the i550W in Sunway and yes its already out in Malaysia. It has Wifi, and the display resolution is fantastic. The GPS is really cool and the Symbian software is far more superioi then of the Nokia's. I really love the phone. It has everything and for once Samsung did not miss out anything. The only problem I am facing now is that there are very small number of Symbian software out there that can work with this phone. I just purchased the Kapersky Mobile anti-virus for USD29.95 and it cant work with the i550. Now I dont know what to do with the software. No doubt the i550 is Symbian S60 3rd edition but none of the available software work on it. Why I dont know and even Samsung cant provide a solution or answer. In short, the phone rocks and I love it.
i am a regular user of pda phones and i bought the i550 as a change and i have to say it is amazing. besides looking and feeling light and great in size its services are amazing. well done samsung. and i can confirm yes it does have wifi. the phone has been out in dubai for a couple of weeks now.
