Unfortunately u cannot change the bg colour of menu if u r using an factory preset rom or a rom which doesn't have root privileges.
Instead u can install launchers (application from the android market) like LAUNCHER PRO, adw launcher which ll have custom screen bg colour.

This is not an viable option. If u need to connect to the internet again, u ll have to redo the configuration.
Instead, if u go to settings>wireless & network>mobile network and uncheck the data connectivity.
This ll turn off the EDGE connectivity temporarily so that u can switch on later.

If u forgot the pin or pattern or password, enter the wrong passwords multiple time.
The phone ll get locked, but u can unlock it by entering the google account username and password with which u have syncd. with google.

Yes it shows(for 1.5 secs), but only if the screen is on u ll be able to see it.

One of the best buy within the budget of Rs. 9500.
The internet on the handset is working very fast.
I can also use this phone as modem through Kies (tithering)...and the internet speed on laptop is also very good.
There are plenty of applications which can run on this mobile....
I would recommend to go for this.

Could any samsung i5500 user advise if this phone has the feature to show up the 'call waiting' notification when i'm calling someone who's currently talking on the phone?
My brother has a Blackberry which doesn't have this feature which is so annoying and it was brought to my mind that most Android phones also lack this feature..
