I bought the Galaxy 5 (GT-I5503) this year, Feb. 2011. Last week, the phone stopped working on me. On taking it to the service center, I was shown a black spot on the PCB stating that water seeped in and I was told its water damage. I ensure that the phone is never exposed to water and I argued the same however the service center was adamant and additionally said the warranty is not supported for water damage. There is no way for me to prove that the phone was never exposed to water. Now I am told I need to change the PBA (the board) which costs Rs. 3525.00. This is a very bad experience I have had in phones especially Samsung for which I paid Rs. 8900 in Feb. So guys beware when you buy a Samsung when they tell you that you have a 1 year warranty. Read the fine print since the company will try to wriggle out of it by giving you excuses.

i am planning to buy this cellphone but i strongly need your views about this ph... moreI am not an expert, but i have this phone and i listen music on it the whole day.so, everything i will say its only MY opinion
1 - the quality is good , only the groove arent so good, but its probably Mp3 problem, not of the phone itself, and the loudness is good enough to dont let you listen anything else around.
2 - the camera is good enough too, and you only wanna daytime , its gonna be ok, cause it doesnt have flahslight

4 - when i try to play heavy games like ,Inotia3 it hangs frequently, with normal stuffs its works smoothly

a very good phone ,worth more than his price.
The only problem is the low battery life, if you listen music a big part of your day(starting 8am) you gonna need recharge it around 7~8pm.

Hi all,
I successfully installed the CynogenMod-7.1.0 RC1 - Madteam version of Gingerbread(2.3.5) in my Galaxy 5.
I notice the following abnormalities in this rom,
1. GPS doen't seem to connect.
2. Phone restarts after switching on the wifi tethering.
3.GPRS (Edge)Speed seems to be reduced.
Have anyone tried this rom? Any similar issues?

PS: The interface for Gingerbread is gr8 and hats off for the old tv fashioned screen off and on...! I'm loving it!!!

I have one. The battery life is very short. If you used this mobile, you have put on charge every day.

hi,its not that bad!i got it from o2 on sale prepay....but i like it when i almost can use it like my main phone desire!i use it for mainly call to abroad and always its conected with wi-fi....no problem and the last thing is....i charge it every 3-4 days!!!yes i love the sounds and its a little gem!so its a good one!

It's total rubbish. But now I am locked in for two years after being talked into it at a branch of Carphone Warehouse. Cannot get onto the internet or even receive/send texts - even in areas where Wi-Fi is freely available. I want my old Nokia back. It never let me down.
