Sagar, 08 Apr 2010what i wanted. was a lag free phone... was really excited for buying this phone... but now aft... morewhy would you turn down a perfectly good samsung for a tired old Nokia 5800, frankly it makes no sense, this phone is good, runs Android which we all know to be a good platform, and the 5800 runs some rubbish symbian software that looked tired and old the day it came out.
Hmmm..quite interesting review by gsmarena..but i don't agree with when they say its not a silver bullet..
I think its better than all the other phones in its price range. REALLY BETTER
You can install so many other keyboards - swype is best!
I'm curious, is the android 2.1 update for this phone out in the UK? if not, when is it likely to be coming out (:
I am a huge Nokia fan so it took some serious thinking and consideration before I decided to buy this phone (cupcake version)and I have not been sorry at all. As a matter of fact, I'm glad GSM's review wasn't out by the time I bought the phone, because that might have swayed me NOT to buy it. Frankly, I love it - it is unbelievably user friendly and I think I got more than what I paid for. The phone is not perfect, but show me a phone out there that is. So what if the keyboard lags a bit when you turn the phone sideways, am I going to get rid of my husband because he doesn't pick up his sox? No, it's unimportant enough to live with. I played a lot with my phone the last few days (new phone and all that :)and the battery lasted 2 days. That is fine by me too - it's understandable that the more functions & apps you use on the phone the more battery it's going to use, live with it, deal with it and move on. The only complaint I have about this phone is the unbelievably short USB cable.
lag is not an issue if you use an alternate launcher like the HelixLauncher.its free on the market and u don't need to root. You can also get the 3d gallery or the flan gallery here (http://www.droid-life.com/downloads/ ).tried it and it works. no landscape or multitouch though. anyway, samsung should really put more effort into the pantheon launcher (or touchwiz) and the camera app. don't care much about pantheon. helix does the job and pretty well too
i just want to know that this model os can be upgraded to v2.1 or is is available in indian markets
what i wanted. was a lag free phone... was really excited for buying this phone... but now after reading the review... have changed my mind...going for nokia 5800 finally..
It could have been on my list if it didn't have an uninspiring camera
Anil Kumar, 08 Apr 2010I bought this in Dubai, UAE. Doesn't have Android Market even though Manual says that. Calling... moreyou should have known better before buying..handsets in dubai dont come with android market..
I bought this in Dubai, UAE. Doesn't have Android Market even though Manual says that. Calling Samsung support and they are not equipped to support this phone and doesn't have any knowledge. All most all apps crashes always. This was my first smart phone, never ever will I buy Samsung or Google phones. have used a friends Iphone which is far far better. They are also not providing any updates to 2.1 also. PC doesn't recognize USB after installing some apps, you have to reset the phone for USB to be detected by PC.This is a pure crap phone. I am not using the phone now, gone back to my Nokia 5310 which is far better.
i was plannin to buy this phone after the review the galaxy i7500 seems a lot better with unofficial custom firmwares and a good value for money.... oh and ya is there a solution to play lag free polarbit games on spica??

darshan, 07 Apr 2010battery does nt last even for a day with gprs does anybody have idea how to conserve batteryTips to conserve battery:
1 Lower screen brightness to lowest possible. Usage of the screen is the biggest battery drainer.
2 Lock the screen when not in use.
3 Download automatic task killer. Kill all apps in the menu except those absolutely necessary. Otherwise they will run in the background and drain battery.
4. Switch to 2G if you don't need 3G.
That's all I have been doing. Hope it helps

Can you download apps from the market to your ad card or do they have to be saved to the phones internal memory? If this is the case doesn't this phone have a really small internal memory? How many apps could be d/l to this phone?
