Does anyone know when Samsung will officially release Froyo for the Galaxy 3? I've been waiting for an update for ages, and I really don't want to void my warranty by installing unofficial firmware. Eclair is becoming obsolete.

And ofc u'll be able to synchronize your phone. Cheers

Alternatively you can use Super Private Conversation app.

I love this phone, the battery life is excellent compared to my motorola milestone!!! Just wished the camera had flash... And I love using swype to text.... Hopefully there will be an official froyo update....

Gzha, 15 Feb 2011I have been using this fone n battry backup,touch is also good there is an problem when ever I... morego to settings>>accounts and sync and turn on background data..then u will be able to create or login to your google account....i also faced the same prob and turning on background data solved it....

I have been using galaxy 3 for almost one month now.i would say that it is one of the best android phones available.the swype text is simply awesome once you get used to out.
I saw many users complaining that their balance is getting reduced.due to gprs data usage even though the background data is disabled. Here is a way to turn off the gprs and save battery. disable background data by going to accounts and synch. Then go to network settings. Change the network type to cdma.wait sometime and change it back to automatic. Gprs will be disabled.
To turn on the gprs. Switch to flight mode using the power button and change back to normal mode. Gprs will be enabled.
This is the only way to completely turn off gprs and save your balance. Everything else is fine and you will enjoy using galaxy 3. Even the battery lasts for about 3 days with moderate usage which is acceptable for an android phone.
