Hi! I was in iicf exhibition at Mumbai and I had seen G3 and Optimus One. G3 was as usual and very smooth functioning but I was quite surprise that Optimus One having 512MB RAM was not quite smooth. It may be because of any specific reason but it was not smooth.
It is just my observation and would like to recommend all users that please go and see both the handsets personally and decide yourself.

First, I would like to say that your assumption of myself owning a LG OPTIMUS 1 P500 is totally wrong. In fact I own neither of them( OPTIMUS 1 OR G3 )!
Just recently I had an idea of changing my handset from the great W810i from Sony Ericsson to a new one, and I just commenced my quest for a new one.
I started my journey from G5, then through ideos 8150 finally reached G3, just before my final decision of a thumbs up to OPTIMUS 1.
After going through both of their(G3 and P500) user opinions, I found some striking faults with G3 in the form of frequent call drops, poor resolution screen and an extremely poor battery backup, which made some users of G3 even repent their decision!
On the other hand I found none of these black marks in OPTIMUS ONE, and every single user was cherishing their decision of taking the above mentioned LG's product with them.
The only 'comic'error with P 500 is that its combination with an 8GB memory card is not so great. Hopefully they will fix it with the gingerbread upgrade.
Yes, I do admit that I was excited by these edging out of G3 by P500 in every aspect, which only multiplied with the confirmation of gingerbread for the same. But I did not post anything foul against G3, and my postings were mainly towards the prospective buyers of a new smart phone, which could lead them to the right decision!!!

My galaxy 3 get locked b'coz entered to many wrong patterns to unlock the patt... morewell it will ask a gmail password if you have synced the mobile. else i don't know max be reset in your nearest Samsung care

There is a memory effect for some batteries like NiCad. This could be the reason for Li-Ion battery issues in this phone as well :
The Memory Effect
This is an effect that nickel-cadmium (NiCad) rechargeable batteries suffer from. If a NiCad battery is recharged before being discharged fully, it ‘forgets’ that it is able to discharge any more energy.
For example, pretend a battery is capable of storing 100 units of energy. You use 40 units, then charge the battery up again to 100 units. In your mind, the battery contains 100 units again, but the memory effect means the battery essentially can only release up to 40 units of energy.
It describes one very specific situation in which certain NiCd batteries gradually lose their maximum energy capacity if they are repeatedly recharged after being only partially discharged. The battery appears to "remember" the smaller capacity. The source of the effect is changes of the characteristics of the underused active materials of the cell.
However the term is commonly misapplied to almost any case in which a battery appears to hold less charge than was expected. These cases are more likely due to battery age and use, leading to irreversible changes in the cells due to internal short-circuits, loss of electrolyte, or reversal of cells.

harsha, 11 Dec 2010about the interface well they have already said not much. about battery back up i get 2.5 to 3... morehow do you manage to get that ?? i have same phone. but not possible to get battery for just 1.5 day with normal usage like 2 hrs of call and 1 hr max of internet usage. i hav installed other products which conserv battery but still 2.5 days is way too long!!
