Just go to contacts, open activities window, press menu and add Google account. Your contacts will be synced with google contacts.

No problem with the battery itself but the battery reader.
Perhaps a firmware upgrade would solve this problem
.Get this in knowledge of samsung india via twitter or fb
More comments means more chances of getting it fixed.

Shri..., 10 Nov 2010Most of them are facing that problem.. Even me too... And Kies sucks a bit....Make sure you select 'samsung kies' or 'ask on connection' from from 'usb settings'.
If that doesn't help, call samsung cc. they are very responsive

After reading all comments / opinions i bought this cell and its pretty good so far ..... I have installed the Kies software on my PC and upgraded that too .. but ... still my phone is not detected by Kies .. when connected to laptop ... the cell is charging .. but not detected .... i am using windows 7 OS ... any help on this please? Also can someone suggest some good sites where i can download videos ( Bollywood) which will play good on this phone?

Have been using the phone for a month now. Its battery behaviour is totally erratic. It shows 60 percent at one time and gets totally discharged and switched off in next 15 min.. No widget is able to solve this problem, if at all the problem is just with reading the correct state of the battery.. Anybody else having the same problem??

A new SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 Mobile Phone Battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the digital camcorder SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. New SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. Always store a Mobile Phone Battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage.When charging the SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the camcorder batteries from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure
It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery's life (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run the device under the battery's power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user's manual. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that SAMSUNG Galaxy 3 be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.

Including ur applications istalled, phtos/videos in phone memory etc.... But it doesnt effect the Memory Card.... To be on safer side, remove the memory card before resetting by taking all backups from ur phone memory...

hi i just buy galaxy 3 two day before. first day i use this ph its consume only 30% battry life with talk time on more than 1 hour..after full charge on second day i use this ph with talk time upto 40min. its completlly discharge. i m not able to understand about its battry.you r requested to plz suggest me how to improve its backup.
