Regarding the previous comment: Samsung i600 does have WiFi. I just bought one. Wifi works great.
Just trying to correct previous poster's erroneous information.
Dear Blackjack Owners, can you use the phone as an HSDPA wireless modem and receive a call at the same time?
I have been using the phone for over a month now and I must say . . . fantastic.
I bought this to link up to our corporate email via Goodlink - done. Googlemaps - done. standard feature packed.
I bought the phone in German, it is now all English, didnt know you could do that :-)
Downside: a bit small (but thats a plus too), battery life short (especially with blue tooth & WiFi burning)
All up: recommended!! I would buy it again. A positive experience.
Awesome smart phone. Pitty there is no FAX feature and the HSDPA is only 1.8MBPS. Samsung phones are hot and sexy, why does the i600 lack design? Looks like my Varsity financial calculator;)
Not sure about those of you who complain about battery life. I get by on 2 days with a full charge! And I use it quite often, for calls, online surfing, MSN and tons of sms.
This is a great phone the battery life is not that bad at all, but it could use a touch screen. Besides that it is an amazing phone
Samsung i have eagerly awaiting the i600 and i already have the nokia e61i which is a great phone but was a bit big and did not have e secondary camera. I have to say that samsung is going to destry their reputation by the lousy batteries and very short battery life they include in their phones. the battery life of the i600 is so bad it makes me hate using the phone and i thought they learnt their lesson from the 3201 the model before the i600. actually everyone i meet complains about the lousy battery life and swears never to buy a samsung phone. For everyone out there who want the perfect phone look at the HTC 3600.
I have been considering buying this phone. The only deal breaker would be if there was no profiles system for the phone, something similar to the Symbian S60 profile system. I have a P990i and while I can switch to silent my phone during meetings, I inadvertently forget to switch it on and thus miss calls or messages. If the phone has this system, then I would get this for myself. Can someone help me out with my query?
I used a samsung mobile n d bettery performance was very very bad. Voice was very strong. Problem occured when waned 2 download software. Thats why i hate em. Hope this 1 ll be frederent. Sorry guys.
Just out of curiosity, I will be switching to to samsung i600 soon if this question is answered by you i600 experts.

Hi Im from Cisco too. We have an option to get i600 or E61i (I hate the Treo 650). I like the i600 more but what I know is that Cisco is going to release an agent for Windows Mobile that will support Cisco Call Manager
Does anyone know when the Samsung or any other mobile using the Windows mobile OS will support the Cisco VoIP clent. I currently have a Nokia E61 and am about to upgrade. I really like the Samsung i600 but it doesn't have the Cisco VoIP client like the E61/E61i or E65 and i use this feature at my office on our Cisco call manager. I heard you can download a 3rd party app for the windows mobile phones. Any comment.
hi. usually when you have your operator settings for wap, the gprs connection is there, but works only when needed.., you don´t have to worry about it. The wi-fi connection if on, keeps searching for a hotspot, then your battery life will "pay" for it...if you need to use wi-fi for Skype or to surf the net, go to the connection manager and then activate the wi-fi.
i've found out abt the when both gprs n wifi is on..how do we noe whether we r using wifi or gprs...?
i've called samsung hq..if u wan to use wifi..make sure there's a wireless connection which u can access..to disable the gprs..go start->settings->connections->wireless manager->tap menu->n u will see a disconnect cellular data->tap on it..
n there the gprs will be disable..
if its already disabled..the colour of the "disconnect cellular data" would be in grey...after doing this..u r ready for high speed free wifi internet!
another thing..anybody got msn mobile?can mail mi it?
Normally the device always use WiFi if connected. But dunno how to verify that. Just need to trust on it I think.Maybe we should send this question to Samsung Support.
Bought a Samsung I600 a couple of days ago, and so far I'm very happy with it. I used a Treo 650 before, so pretty familiar with Qwerty keyboards.
I actually find the Samsung's keyboard easier to use than the treo, less errors when typing. Screen is about 15% smaller than the Treo's, wish it was about the same since I'm used to bigger screens.
Syncing with PC is a breeze, and using wifi and 3G for internet is also very easy. Managed to configure my gmail account easily (without contacting my phone provider) so I can send and receive emails directly from the phone. I also have the same question: how do you know if you are using 3G or wifi when surfing the net?
You will be right Ling, this samsung is a great device. In my company we all changed mobiles and had the choice between Nokia E61i and this Samsung, Samsung won the voting and seems nobody regret the choice.About the Ghost voting on this forum, It is known from other Forums too that Nokia babies try to bring their devices to a higher score and do the inverse with their competitors. Do not think Nokia is happy with this but babies stay babies....so just let them play.. :-)
