Samsung Windows Mobile Rumors

Today, the Samsung's portfolio of Windows Mobile phones has got a new member - the Samsung i740 phone, which inherits the well-forgotten Samsung i710. Unlike its high-end siblings, the Samsung i780 and Samsung i900 Omnia, the new member has balanced functionality to target the budget minded users.

Samsung i740 is in its essence a quad-band GSM/GPRS phone with no 3G support or even EDGE. The other feature missing here is also the Wi-Fi connectivity. These two major flaws are intended to lower the phone price to make it more desirable for the mass user, but without them the Samsung i740 will most surely fail miserably on the market.

Samsung i740 has a standard 2.8" TFT display with QVGA resolution. As a phone running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro OS, it is important to know that i740 can rely on a powerful 624 MHz processor. Fortunately, there's at least a built-in GPS receiver.

The phone flaunts 3 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. The camera has a business card scanning feature.

Leaving those aside, the phone offers some standard features as FM radio, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), USB and a microSD card slot (up to 4GB).

Samsung i740 has an all-metal body, features an ingenious scroll-wheel navigation button and measures 107 x 59 x 13.8mm - as you can see the missing 3G and Wi-Fi support has not lead to an ultra slim profile.

The Samsung i740 market availability is scheduled for the summer, yet the official announcement is not out, so we'll wait for it to confirm the final spec sheet and availability.

Your opinion is exact what i would like to say. The ringtone or music through speaker are always very low output. So Nokia or SE will rule.
