I must say, when i owned this phone at the very early release, i did find it laggy and it did have issues with handling emails with attachements etc. But now i just got one preloaded with win 6.5, and i must admit its really superb. The interface is awesome and very interactive. I hardlyfind it laggy. If u want to buy this, i'd strongly recommend getting the one pre-loaded with winmo6.5. This is a great phone and puts the symbian ui to serious test. I think winmo6.5 might be the true answer to iphone critics. I'm sure we can expect more from the upcoming xperia x2 as well. can't wait to see what winmo7 will offer. Camera is also very pleasant to use and produces very vivid pictures compare to regular n-series with 5mp.
Truly amazing ... go try it!
Camouflage_KGB, 07 Dec 2009I've got info dat Omnia 2 display not a RESISTIVE or CAPACITIVE one, but it use a different di... moreAdvanced R type is basically a very good resistive touch screen. So you're right and wrong. It is far better than a normal resistive screen, and almost as good as a capacitive. My omnia II works great. I let ,my friends, who have the HD2 and iphone 3gs try it out and they thought it was capacitive, and they were blown away by my reply.
IMPORTANT QUESTION !!
can Omnia II play all video format that come in hotmail attachment coz i heared that all windows mobile can play all video format WITHOUT convert it ?
plz anyone who know the answer in full details and i'll be apperciated ..

guys, there is only one thing im interested in!please tell me about the lag problem, cuz i saw many videos where it lags, but those are all beta versions of the phone!i heard ppl say its not laggy at all.!i need more info.thnx!
To clarify some things:
I have Omnia 2 and my GF has Jet
They both have a brilliant display and there is apparently no difference between, than the size.
Like it has been said again and again, there is practically no color difference, for the human eye to percept, in a mobile size display, between 65k and 12mil colors.
Thats extra true about the high contrast and super vibrant AMOLED screens. I m holding both mobiles right now and i practically see no difference, i dont know and i dont care if the laboratory can...
For me, its enough that they are so much better than the iphone!
As for the camera and video, they are practically the same, both on the phone's display and on the PC or TV
As for the extra capabilities of the Omnia's screen, it is rumored that a next version of windows (7, coming March 2010)
Will support capacitive screens and 12mil colors
and that Omnia 2 will be loosely compatible with that.
Personal, i never trust rumors, but time will tell...
I've got info dat Omnia 2 display not a RESISTIVE or CAPACITIVE one, but it use a different display technology named Advanced R-type Touch Screen. Someone from Samsung R&D in CommunicAsia 2009 Show told me dat. Correct if me wrong..
MJ, 05 Dec 2009Thanks for the answers, but now I'm wondering between Omnia 2 and Nokia N900. Someone with opi... moreAsk urself 1st what are u really need for.. coz it is different OS between Omnia 2 and Nokia N900. Windows and Symbian..
nikwid, 06 Dec 2009So, the Omnia II has a hyped 16M color capable AMOLED screen, just like the Jet or Omnia HD. B... moreI've been used Jet before Omnia 2. Seriously, if u want a superb quality image (jpg format) buy Jet. They got 16M colour, Amoled display with 3.1' screen. But if u want to play/ record videos, better choose Omnia 2 (D1- Dvd format/ like with 480p. Near to HD size- 720p). Even Omnia 2 screen display only 65k (basic Windows Mobile), but its Amoled technology make it super clear than others. Trust me.. In around 2 years, i've been used/ buy to try Innov8, Pixon 8mp, Jet and Omnia 2 now..
MJ, 05 Dec 2009Thanks for the answers, but now I'm wondering between Omnia 2 and Nokia N900. Someone with opi... moreN900 and Omnia 2 are totaly different phones. Different OS, Different Build Form...I guess you dont know what you want.
So, the Omnia II has a hyped 16M color capable AMOLED screen, just like the Jet or Omnia HD. BUT, the WinMo OS limits it to 56k colors... and that's fine, in menus and such. But how about video playback and photo displaying? Have Samsung added support for 16M colors there, so that the WinMo software limitation is bypassed? If not, then I'd say it is kind of false marketing to promote is at as 16M screen if it cannot be used... Anyone who knows for sure, or has tested a video clip (with more than 65k colors in it of course) on both the Omnia II and, say the Jet?
Transformer, 05 Dec 2009Yes, is possible. How is the clarity.... can i get that phone..tell me how for it is good
Yup. In Malaysia, FMG sell it for MYR 2399. Original from Samsung Malaysia. And after 3 month use it, the sales person call me and ask if i want to upgrade my version (from 6.1 to 6.5) for free. Why not? And he told me dat this newer version didn't coz any defect like lag@ hang whatever.. so now i dare to guarantee that this Omnia 2 was a HIGH END gadget for Samsung than others..
Anonymous, 06 Dec 2009Hi, Do u means Omnia II sell in Malaysia all in WM6.5 alrd??I don't think so. cuz i had my on 6.1 wm. n i prefer 6.1 b cuz 6.5 eat alot of Ram memory.
