Tod, 17 Jul 2009To the person who posted about a youtube comparison between this phone and the iphone - you sa... moreThe Omnia appeared to be notchy compared to the iphone 3gs. Don't get me wrong, this looks like a top spec phone, but almost everyone with the iphone seem to love it and since this phone is only new to the market, may be worth the 2 year (24 month contract with something else that has been proven) wait till it evolves a little bit more. Unless of course, it is available quick smart and I can get some feedback on it.
Please review it gsmarena,it's out.

I personally think the i8000 is more geared up for the professional user than the iphone and it's resolution and specs are more than double that of the iphone which is what caught my eye about this phone...very advanced. Plus I need a phone with FULL microsoft support for my work (ie has to be win mobile platform).
Any idea when this model (i8000 Omnia 2) will be available in the UK under contract?

Can the adminstrator of this thread help remove those unconstructive comments posted previously, better yet, block that person from posting . Its not helping the people here who wants to know more about Omnia2.
Regarding to initial reviews from Omnia 2 user forum, it is just simple to cook a ROM with auto rotation for all apps and select enhanced GPS (A-GPS) but this latter could be enabled already by default. One missing minor feature is no digital compass but wth for a few bucks one can be bought on ebay.

Battery life is one of my biggest concern...
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Advanced R Touchscreen.
According to the S8000 Jet review, its functions as if its capacitive BUT with the added benefit of being able to use anything to Poke the screen with.
I guess we'll have to just wait and see. ^_^

hooman13051, 16 Jul 2009is the touch sensitive such like i phone?!:( plz help me!The Omnia II have the advanced R touchscreen. R stands for resistive. Resistive basically responds trough pressure, hence the use of a stylus (or whatever) is advised, though you can use your finger. The iPhone uses the capacitive touchscreen. Capacitive responds trough heat. So other than your fingers, it will not respond.
However as i said Omnia II uses the advanced R touchscreen. As per review with the JET (S8000) it is as responsive as the iPhone. BUT with added benefit that you can use whatever to poke your screen. so I guess, this will be much better. but then again, we have to wait for it to LAUNCH and be thoroughly tested by its users. ^_^
CC, 15 Jul 2009It's coming to Sweden with 16GB. Orders are being taken for August delivery. How do you know this. Perhaps I could order the phone in Sweden and have it shipped to Denmark :) Keyboard is switchable through the software, right?
Hey this has a 1900 3G band. Will it work with At&t in the US as long as you live in a 1900 band area?
