My first "smartphone". Night and day compared to the Nokias (Symbyan OS) i had before. Really liked the cameras and the OLED screen. Build quality was bad though and mine broke after 2 years (Screen cracked) just after i replaced the battery.

Just so it's said: my previous comment was wrong. At least my device did not have the bootloader locked, the issue resided in the version of TWRP I was trying to install CyanogenMod13 with. After having flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 for i8190 (you'll find it on AndroidFileHost, not on the official page) with Heimdall, I was able to both install CM13 and root.

Any way to unlock the bootloader on this model? While ADB can interact with it and I could flash TWRP via Heimdall then reflash the stock ROM (after having wiped it) using Odin, TWRP cannot install either CM13 or LineageOS 13. Trying to root it via SuperSU also did not work.
I intend to bring it to Android 6 (via CM13 or LineageOS 13, regardless). That was rather straightforward with my S2s, but with this S3 mini it proves to be a challenge...

The playstore works fine, YouTube doesnt work but i installed SkyTube Legacy which is a yt client for older androids, you can download instagram and viber, but when you try to open them, you just cant log in. You cant install spotify, but Google play music is installed and working, you can also get YoutubeMusic or just move .mp3 songs to an sdcard. hope this helped!

I recently purchased one of these phones on Ebay for 40€ for my mom a... morei use an older version of opera mini that still supports android 4.1 (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/opera-software-asa/opera-mini/variant-%7B%22minapi_slug%22%3A%22minapi-16%22%7D/) even thoug the last version that supports android 4.1 is from december 2019, i can still go on most websites using it
