it supports OTA firmware updates, so as long as Sumsung enables this on one of their servers, then make the details available to us users (there's no settings pre-defined in the phone) then OTA firmware updates will work. i need to know how to find the settings.
Under tools | device manager | options there is a "check for updates". It needs a server profile to be setup, and of course it is not defined with that info, but I assume that is where OTA updates will be initiated.
does anyone know or have the settings needed to define the profile for ota firmware update? when i select to update firmare, it then takes me to the option to set up the server/user name settings and i am not familiar with them. thanks to anyone that can assist me with this.
My lens cover gave me a scare. The cover would open nicely, But when i exited the Camera, The cover would partially close half way or not close at all. It would get stuck. I cleaned around and on top the lens cover very gentle, Gave it a nice blast of canned air and now it works fine. My guess there was a piece of dust or dirt in the cover mechanism. Has this ever happened to anyone?
AMADEOUS, 28 Dec 2008what on earth does etiquette mode do?i heared that if u place the fone face down,it goes into ... moreetiquette mode will pause the music player and/or the alarm (activates the snooze feature) by placing the face of the phone down.
inspire, 28 Dec 2008cant we also see the time of our messages and not only the date? also, how do we see the deffer... moreu can always just answer the phone/ make calls with the slider closed...easy.
if you want to view message details..u need to..umm open 'message details' in options
Just bought the i8510. Great phone. Only got LED flash but surprised how good it was considering. Heard comments about the dust and got worried after ordering. Have decided keep phone and not return under 14 day return clause and to leave screen film from packaging on for few days until proper one arrives off Ebay. As I know of a dust problem then i'll be making sure I dont get it near dust then! I had same problems with my old Nokia 6280 but it wasnt that awful (well the dust anyway, cos phone was worst i've owned lol!)
No issues with battery but then again I did charge it overnight prob 12 hours plus and had no probs with usage time. As with any new phone I've been playing loads even then got 36 hours out of battery. With average usage this will go to 3 day plus which for me is fine. Good hint is to allow running on 2g rather than 3g if you can. No past/present owners of N95 can slag this phone off for battery life!! Old SE users like me will find it more than acceptable. Bear in mind that any new battery will take several charging cycles to get to optimum performance.
All round am very happy. I am however disgusted by the level of insults and name calling that goes on in this forum. Get a life you bunch of kids!
cant we also see the time of our messages and not only the date? also, how do we see the defferent times a call was made, either missed, called or answerd? thanks
any chance of an active call NOT closing when the slider is closed? thanks
what on earth does etiquette mode do?i heared that if u place the fone face down,it goes into silent when some1 is calling u but mine doesnt do anything
Anonymous, 27 Dec 2008Does anyone know if there is anyway to enable animated theme or animated wallpaper for this ph... moreTo answer to my own question, i think there is still no application for Innov8 to support animated theme yet.
After roaming through the web, there is only a few application like ownskin claimed that there have animated theme for Innov8 but somehow after downloaded and installed it just show not compatible. Sad.. Hope there can come out with the application faster.
mmm.. is it just me the only user here interested in animated theme? anyone else?
it was really good cell phone having all the functions which i want so it fulfill my desires
hi there, any chance of calling by simply saying some1s name into the microfone instead of the classic way?if so,how? thanks.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970this is indeed a great question. The innov8 is a rich multimedia phone with 8mp camera. Sound quality is excellent. Built is great and nice to hold. Very executive. The n96 is an all rounder device with plenty of software apps and firmware upgrades. Also comes with live tv and 16 gb memory.
It really boils down to individual and i would go with innov9 imho since i dont really need to download apps and firmwares. For me the multimedia functions and connectivity options are more essential.
Hope this helps.
guys any problem with image folders created in the file manager/pc doesnt show on the image gallery.. vice versa..? plus do you have any problems moving/copying images in mass memory to a folder created in the image gallery?

jackie, 27 Dec 2008Samsung Innov8 like hell! i just perchase for it. battery stand by time less then 10 hour and ... moreAuto rotate is working fine. Maybe u did not turn on the Auto Pivot options. This phone allow user to choose whether to have auto rotate function or not.
Because some people might find auto rotate features annoying. So they can choose to turn it off. Unlike some phone not allow people to choose.
For battery life, try to turn off the WIFI auto scan and bluetooth function. This will help a lot.
At least mine can last for two days with moderate use.
Samsung Innov8 like hell! i just perchase for it. battery stand by time less then 10 hour and Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate didn't work
