Received mine this morining from mobiles.co.uk, back in the post this afternoon to be exchanged. The camera just wouldn't function at all, the lens cover opened and it took pictures but just of a black screen. Samsung tech support had no idea what it could be so it's gone back.
However in the short time I used it, I was impressed with the rest of the functionality, but I'm getting concerned reading several reviews on other sites of all sorts of faults and bugs. I'll give one more chance with the replacement if that's dodgy it will be back to the drawing board.
it's the greatest. i've just bought it and now watching a movie!big time!!!
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2008Does it have automatic focus while video recording? Yes or No ?I was wondering the same thing. Some sites say it does but still not sure.
Such a gr8 phone it should have g8ter ram though(like 192 or gr8ter)
But stilll this phone is da best
Excellent allround phone, Anyone please know where to download decent themes for this phone, as pre-installed are boring, thanks for any help
Anonymous, 17 Sep 2008sorry the best cameraphone by far is the imobile 902I've tested other 8 megapixel camera phone in market like VirtuV F8, K-Touch C800 and i-Mobile 902.
All phone uses CCD camera with optical zoom and Xenon Flash. Sounds like good I think.
After testing, my opinion has change drastically.
The photo result are bad. It's blur, not sharpen. The color tone like over exposure, not natural. Optical zoom are not helped. Autofocus not work perfectly, I think because the slow system response.
In all condition, 5 megapixel from LG Viewty, Nokia N82 and Samsung G810 or G600 has far better result than this.
had the phone a week, everything is perfect,no issues so far, email me
Ace, 17 Sep 2008Hi Guyz, Juz wanna have an honest opinion about N96 and Samsung Innov8. Which one do you... morei think the samsung is the better phone but i have not seen the n96 but not only is the samsung 8 meg compared to 5 of the n96 believe the data download speed is faster on the samsung and also you can stream media with the samsung which i dont think you can with the n96 and i have to say i love the optical mouse on the samsung
Usil, 16 Sep 2008The only place in the UK to get this is the Carphone Warehouse. They only stock the 8GB Versio... morei ordered my 16gb from cpw a couple of weeks ago and it came next day and was 16gb internal memory with no memory card
I've got the 16GB version on o2 bought from e2save.com (16 GB built in , not 8GB + 8 GB micro SD). I believe they no longer have the 16GB version and are supplying 8GB plus an 8 GB micro SD.
Love the phone which has replaced my N95.
Couple of negative points :
1) Signal strength not as good as Nokia (same network)
2) If you miss a call / text, and the screen goes in to power save mode you have to press a button to see if you have missed anything.
3) I can not get the handset to work properly with my car handsfree via Bluetooth. Able to make & receive calls but the sound is not transmitted either way.
Only handset worth upgrading to from N95 at the moment in my opinion. Nothing else on the horizon really. N85 looks a decent alternative (Not much built in memory), N96 well overdue and can't compare to i8510. SE C905 looks good allrounder but not Symbian.
Juz wanna have an honest opinion about N96 and Samsung Innov8.
Which one do you think is the best and why??
Other than the 8 Mp cam does the INNOV8 beat N96 in any other features??
Does the Innov8 have Tv Broadcast receiver like the N96??
Please Don't give me biased replies.
Anonymous, 17 Sep 2008I have a 16gb version which i got from the carphone warehouse.I spoke to someone at the Carphone Warehouse and they told me Samsung no longer ship the 16GB to the UK, at least, not to CPW. They are shipping the 16GB versions to the US though. CPW does not have the 16GB version on their site.
I hope some other providers will supply the 16GB version in the UK
One of the ways to see how good a camera is, Is the USO levels and The i8510 goes up-to a massive 1600 ISO.
The camera on this phone is the closest to a dedicated camera I have ever seen. Pictures are very sharp, Colour's are accurate. What more could you want from a Phone with a camera.
With the camera and the S60 OS I would give this phone a
12 out of 10 Brilliant, Best mobile phone to date.
Anonymous, 17 Sep 2008My digital camera has 11 megapixels, does that make it a good phone? You are only making yourself sound more stupid by your comment.Does your 11MP Digicam have phone feature? NO. The Samsung innov8 not only is a 8mp camera, but a Symbian smartphone with top notch features. Sounds like your 11MP digicam is threatened by this inferior 8mp camera phone. It's not the Mega pixel counts that make a good camera I know. But you have to admit this phone is damn near perfect. If I want the best possible qualty pictures I would get a nice Digital camera, but I dont think I would want to walk around with a camera all day. With this phone I would have a camera with me all the time and get almost as good pictures as your 1823487 Mega Pixel camera :-P It's like buying a new Blu-Ray player. You can buy a $500 fully featured Sony Blu-Ray player or you can spend $500 and buy a PS3 which is a Blu-Ray player and a awsome gaming system.
My digital camera has 11 megapixels, does that make it a good phone?
The only place in the UK to get this is the Carphone Warehouse. They only stock the 8GB Version. e2save.co.uk is a branch of the CPW and they are advertising a 16GB i8510 on their site. Be aware that this is misleading as its actually an 8GB version with a 'free' 8GB memory card with it to make it up to 16GB. The free memory card is not even free. Compare the 8GB on O2 at £35 a month. Free phone. The 16GB version on O2 at £35 a month costs £49 for the handset. Remember, the 16GB version is an 8GB version with a free 8GB memory card. £49 for an 8GB memory card?? What a rip off in my books.
