Zebedee, 02 Aug 2008I totally agree that SE have lost some of the glamour with previous handset however who would ... moreYes but will this fone come with the same 2 year warrenty that the nokia's have my n95 has broken plenty of time's including the screen and i have not paid a penny for it
i was thinking of buying the nokia n96 when it would be available but this phone has put me in second thoughts. i am a nokia fan and i have never liked samsung phones because i thought that everytime they made a new phone, always something was missing. but not this time.samaung has made an excellent job. it has everyhting someone could expect from a real smartphone. the only thing left to test now is its performance but acoording to gsmarena is also quite good
8mp camera without xenon flash? huh????guess thats what they call segmenting. makes no sense to me, dissapointing.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970smape.com seems to disagree with you. 'Also Sporting a higher price, the Korean solution(i8510) seems to lose on most fronts to the Swedish-Japanese opponent(c905)'.
'Here comes a handsome-looking slider compactly sized, sporting a soft-touch surface'.
'C905 combines patches of black- and metal-colored surface, which produces a very impressive feel (the white and gold versions don't look as good though). The quality of assembly and materials are perfect, no looseness between the parts at all, not even a slightest feel of wobbliness'...
Samsung is finally going to win this year, the omnia has already laid the ground work and with this monster being unleashed in a few days time , its ASTALAVISTA Nokia...
Yes the n95 has been a great phone but no new innovation has been coming out of the Finnish house, and yes I know the tube is set to launch next year and then they are releasing the behemouth Project X phone, but till that time Samsung is gonna rule this year...
the tocco already is doing well in the uk and with iphone having stock issues, the omnia is going to take over on that front...But its gonna be a completely new ball game when this baby comes out.
This Phone is the Best in the World right now....
its like the new N95, it will take time for other manufacturers to catch up!!
Samsung i8510 is the new KING OF PHONES
Guess Who......, 02 Aug 2008 Remember....... its was SE who first introduced 8mp cybershot camera...... So Who's copying w... moreNo NO NO man u got that totally wrong...Samsung came up with a 7MP camera fone like in 2005 ...sonyEric was nowhere near that. so dont mislead ppl here by ur sheer wrong info.
why se c905 comes bundled with only 2gb memory card is because it's merely a camera phone. and why samsung i8510 innov8 comes with 8/16gb of internal memory plus microsd card expansion slot is because samsung i8510 innov8 is a complete multimedia gadget, a fusion of digital camera, video camcorder, music & movie player,...
Guess Who......, 02 Aug 2008 Remember....... its was SE who first introduced 8mp cybershot camera...... So Who's copying w... moreit does not matter who introduced first. what matters is which will get released first. and samsung i8510 innov8 will hit the shelves very soon while sony ericsson c905's release date is stilk unknown. maybe samsung is the first to make a 8mp camera phone, they just did not announce it too early.
Remember....... its was SE who first introduced 8mp cybershot camera...... So Who's copying who........ You Could Guess......
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970well,u see although they made a great phone its competitor is NOKIA n we cant forget that.just recall:they were so many times under pressure by samsung n other brands,n then wat?boom n73,later than n95 wich ruled the mobile world for so long..this is the best phone BUT lets wait how nokia responds, cuz they surely will.
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2008Advantages of NOKIA N96 over SAMSUNG i8510 INNOV8:
-Hardware media keys
... moreyea, also a HSDPA 7.2 Mbps(nokia n96 only 3.6 Mbps) not to mention it looks waayyy better!cant wait for the whole review.
$1170, quite expensive. you can already buy a laptop with that money. but i like this better than C905, it doesn't have a xenon flash but it has greater memory and uses micro sd. compared to c905 which only comes with 2GB external memory. this will be released first before C905, I hope somehow the price will decrease the time I'll buy a new phone.
I totally agree that SE have lost some of the glamour with previous handset however who would want a 8MP camera phone with a LED spot light ?
Advantages of NOKIA N96 over SAMSUNG i8510 INNOV8:
-Hardware media keys
Advantages of SAMSUNG i8510 INNOV8 over NOKIA N96:
-8 Megapixel camera
-QVGA video recording @120fps
-DNse 2.0 3D surround sound
-3D graphics accelerator
-micro USB charging
-FM radio broadcast recording
i've seen the samsung i850 innov8 preview. i'm amazed. but i think the icons of the user interface (not the user interface itself) is dull. samsung should have put the icons of the i450 to i8510 instead. those icons are lively and colorful.
Okay, I'm very, very amazed with this phone.
It does have microUSB, it does have auto-rotating for almost all of the applications, it has phenominal camera quality, and a good design [earlier pictures made it look bad].
Now I'm wondering what Nokia's going to do [me being a Nokia fan].
I just might get this, and also the N96.
What if Nokia like, cancels the N96? I wouldn't be surprised.
Does anyone know 100% if this thing weights 124 or 140 grams?
Also, is the FM radio stereo or mono?
It just says "FM radio with RDS".
Nothing about being stereo.
The N96 has "STEREO FM radio with RDS".
