personally, this phone is perfect for my upgrade. i got an iphone now and i want something different, no more touching for me. never had a slider so this phone is perfect. i only care for the camera features and the video play back. don't really give a toss about the gps either, although....

how good is this gps fucnction? so let's say you are in the car, you need to go someplace but you don't have a clue how to get there. you just punch in what? and then the gps fucntion will show you how to get to your destination? i heard that route 66 is just fine or is that garmin thing better? is the latter audial?

sorry for the many questions.

Tsepz, 02 Jun 2009Its the new firmware, every Innov8 user with latest fw is experiencing vastly improved batt life.I installed the BLUE theme that is on this thread. Looks great and works great.

The boring theme that came with it is horrible.

I suggest everyone try that theme.

i was at the Vodafone shop today and they said the Innov8 is better than Omnia or any other model.

I love my Innov8 and since I upgraded the firmware it works fantastic.

        Battery life is VASTLY improved.

Thanks, I guess I should have discovered that.

The optical joystick is only handy when surfing the net which I don't do much on the handset.

I just use Google mail and for that the normal joystick is fine.

Dickless Cheney, 30 May 2009Nick Li-on batteries can be charged anytime.Nick,

a friend of mine runs a battery renewal shop here in the Netherlands. He has told me all about Lion, Nimh, an Nicads, also lead acid.

I spent 40 years in Aviation maintenance and know a little about batteries. You are right though, Nicads, and Nimh have memory effect. Lion does NOT.

Again,I don't know why all of a sudden my battery life went from one day to 4 days, its either

                            1. The new firmware

                            2. uninstalled GarminXT nav program

                            3. followed a tip about exercising the battery as I told you.

you're supposed to keep them charged up!

you only deplete the old nicad batteries.

In setting>themes>turn theme effects OFF........this also makes it faster.

Also, now that you have upgraded the firmware. Get a video clip or play some music in repeat mode and let it run until the battery is depeleted.

Then turn phone off and charge it all the way full.

then test see how your battery life is.
