Hi just want to ask is it very difficult to update the firmware for INNOV8 ??
How to update ?? Is it through the Samsung PC Studio ??
Can somebody guide me ?? Thanks in advance.

can someone help me?when i take a picture using flash and zoom picture in the same time,my innov8 will restart automatically.why?is that because of the software or the camera in trouble?

Dickless Cheney, 29 May 2009Snoop I use XP..........screw Vista it sucks and is just eye candy that you can get with XP... morelol haha...i understand man...it does suck tho...i got a degree in computer studies...an the course was xp based cuz vista wasnt finished at the time i got it...but between that time...and now...not much has changed...i am buying a netbook tho that has xp for university use so dont worry...i'll be kool in no time (H)...i am now downloading the drivers and necessary information for the firmware update tho...so i will let u know how it goes once i am done man...thanks for being so helpful...really appreciate it

I use XP..........screw Vista it sucks and is just eye candy that you can get with XP also.
I have 3 computers and a laptop on a wifi network at home and they all run XP............
My neighbor asked me to fix his computer with Vista. I got so frustrated because nothing is where its supposed to be.
I know XP inside and out now after 8 years. Same as with Win98 and 3.11 back in early 90's.
I am staying with XP.......its rock solid now that the bugs are all out.

Another thing that seemed to help before I flashed it, was run a film in repeat mode until the battery is exhausted and phone shuts down.
Then leave it off and charge it fully.
excercsing the battery seemed to help. but nothing like the firmware upgrade.

Did a test with the new firmware.
Watched one full length film...... 2 hours.
2 hours of listening to music.
about 90 minutes of talk time.
used camera to take about 60 shots and at the end of that still had 3 bars.
The new firmware ROCKS!!

Unbelievable. battery life has tripled and the UI is FAST...blazing fast even with another theme.
You can wait all year for Samsung to get some firmware out.

irvinehooi, 29 May 2009So you means INNOV8 users are forced to use only those themes that bundled with samsung ?? ... morenah that's not what i am saying...sry i shud have specified...some of them slow down the phone...but frankly...u cud use whatever s60 theme u want...once it is innov8 compatible...juss that the boring, bland, disgusting ones that the phone ships with, optimises the ui speed, and there is no crashing or n e thing...but i also have to update my firmware so who knows?...i am looking to buy n97 to experience symbian touch...do u think it is a wise choice?...i love innov8...but i had an omnia...and i miss the touch feeling i had with it...but i also want qwerty...what are your views?

Best phone I ever had..............the photos astound people ........so no more carrying around a camera, also no more dedicated Navigation device (sold it and the camera).
Music sounds fantastic thru the speakers but I found a little trick.
The 3.5 minijack and an amplifier and some hi grade speakers in my garden and I have a portable jukebox.
My neighbors were astonished when they heard the sound and then showed them the phone plugged into the amp in the garden house.

if you want a longger battery life then turnoff or disable all the feature you dont use!!! there's a site where it guides you the things you need to disable.
now i got a question regarding the soft volume, there is a secret code *#0228# for the settings of the innov8. can somebody tell me which of the settings should i configure to make the calll/loud speaker and music player louder.

I dont know if someone else encounered this problem, but although i take very good care of my mobile set, it seems that dust particles are getting inside and can be seen on the screen. I dont know how they are getting in..and how easy it is for them to get in !!!!
Surely imposible to remove and clean :((

But I personally doesn't like the default bundled themes because it looks too plain and no color.

Can somebody tell me will these themes will drain the battery life fast as well ??
