Please go to http://hx-custom-roms.com/ or i8910tuning.com and follow the steps of flashing. I personally prefer i8910tuning.com as Faenilz firmwares the latest of which is n204 is much more stable and reliable than any other firmware.
I have this phone and I wish it had android os on it. Symbian is this phones downfall.
a very very nice piece of art with an amazing and shocking display wonderful superb but the pixels should have been 480*800
Plz help. My phone software version is I8910DXIF6 and Custom version is I8910XEVIF4. Plz inform me the suitable HX version: HX V11 or HX 2.03? Thanks.
Noah, 27 Jan 2011Yes, every application and many more others work after flashing. However, as evry1 else says, ... moreThanks a lot. Ive learned that there are 4 softs for flashing:
1. Microsoft Msxml.msi
2. I8910 Flashing drivers (Install all of these)
3. Symbian ROM flashing tool 1.50
4. Get the latest firmware from this thread in our forum: Latest Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Firmwares
Could you provide me with other link for the last cause I couldnt find it.
Yes, every application and many more others work after flashing. However, as evry1 else says, be very careful while flashing and do it according to the given instructions. If u fail to do so, u will obviously have a very shiny brick labelled as Samsung.

I am really interested in flashing my i8910 but my concern is whether other installed applicaitions like officesuit, dictionaries etc still work after flashing?
undoubtably one of the best image capturing mobile phone!
Audio media is brilliant and inviting.
phone navigation is abit OTT tho!
I'm here to confirm that 32gb microsdhc cards work perfectly well with our beloved i8910. No issues as yet. I bought myself a class 10 lexar 32gb microsdhc with $140, and I can say it is blazing fast. I mean the video now records at a constant speed of 24fps. Well, i also have n204 installed. My dad just bought the HTC Desire HD, but I will stick to this phone as i8910 is an overall champion. The speakers, battery life and screen for example is unparallel. Thats it for now.
Okay, if you have the i8910 theres still hope. Update the firmware yourself with Hyperx HXv11. You'll be happy you did. You can also try SPB mobile shell as an add on launcher. I find its quite good. That said I would never buy another samsung product again. Their total lack of support reeks of short sighted greed. "We have your money now sucker, hah ha ha ha." - at least thats what it feels like.
Very simple, if you own a Omnia HD with standard firmware then upgrade to Hyper X custom HX-V11 rom, it turns the Omnia Hd from a somewhat mobile ionto a super smartphone, giving the end user the best of 4 worlds:
1: Nokia N8
2: SE Vivaz
3: Moto Millstone
4: Samsung Omnia HD
Once you adjust the CPU power levels via the HX Patcher the Omnia HD basically craps all over the Nokia H8 in all but HDMI port and FM Transmiiter but everything else is there and more like portrait qwerty keyboard with swype.
If you look at the hardware specs between the N8 and Omnia HD its amazing that it took Nokia some 16 months to basically match the Omnia HD
Things like CPU (with the HX Patch) and RAM plus major mods to S60v5 make the Omnia HD far more better than the N8, the only thing the N8 has going for it is S^3 and Ovi Store 2.0 as my Omnia HD has Ovi Maps, Ovi store (1.0) and a few more things.
That said, its getting old now and Android has taken over, shame that Hyper X or Fenneli have not tried to hack the Omnia HD bootloader and try to install an Android rom onto it as the hardware can still go in todays mobile world.
Ricco Uk, 06 Jan 2011I have been struggling with this phone since May 2009! Anonymous, 06 Jan 2011Hi, Could anyone would tell me whether this phone supports 32 GB micro SD card in the memor... moreNot sure, I've got a 16GB card which works fine. Originally they said this phone would only accept up to 8GB, so if 16 works, can't see why 32 wouldn't.
Well done samsung,we spent 650$ for this superb phone and we saw no updates! From 01/01/2011 here in Greece we can't use pc studio which means we can't transfer our files to a pc.Great job, as great with galaxy s that could not be updated to froyo for some time and google nexus s, a 750$ device with D1 recording! Now we all know why apple is number 1: they really suport their phones. You pay a lot and you have the best phone. In samsung you pay and you just have an expensive brick.
Hey Guys Check N900. Amazing phone.. Really.. Worth Buying.. and N900 is faaaaaaaar better than any other phone.. Read Reviews there guys..
Glad to see itz still numba 5th even afta 1.5 yrz after itz release. About the people who are complaining about the phone, keep in mind that it was released in 2009, when ppl cudnt even imagine the features it offerd. Yes, we knw the software is buggy, but thx to Faenil and Hyperx, its worldclass till now and can compete with the latest models till now. I have been using the phone for over 6 months now and it completes all my needs. Comparing it with Nokia N8 which was released only some time back is ridiculous.

Samsung=hardware, Symbian=software.
