sajad, 11 Nov 2009no bro u didnt got me i mean to say i used the omnia hd's earphone on nokia 6300 and it rocked... moreNo It's not that! I completely got your point the first time. But it's just that it was really disappointing to know that Nokia 6300 gives better music on the SAME HEADPHONES (even with the locked equalizers).
Also I was feeling much inspirated so I went off the track and shared what I thought about music phones in General.
It was actually irrelevent to what you had reported about.
sajad, 11 Nov 2009hey dev, wat is this SOHD and wat is its connection with omnia hdsohd is samsung omnia hd :p
Why Bash when u can Flash!!! :) lol just a lil humor i guess! but in the end its up to u guys!
I know u have made it clear that its a big risk flashing ur phone but the process is so simple and the frequent members of this community all have the capacity to carry it out. the only thing standing between me and a flashing is the fact that i'm using windows 7. i do plan on downgrading to xp for the sole purpose of flashing. right now my phone is hacked and i have no regrets. i can install nokia n97 and 5800 apps with ease even unsigned ones and those that need signing i have a developers cert ready. U can only enjoy this phone to the fullest after u have either hacked it or flashed it or both!!! The reason i make this post is because if everyone without the necessary firmware flashed to the latest italian firmware then they would have access to any other updates that samsung provide so why not flash it now while u have all the resources to do so.
luckas, 11 Nov 2009xxx, can u provide a link how to hack & flash the omnia hd for one of the versions u mentioned? thxHey Luckas,
If u are looking for the latest firmwares. check out http://www.samsungi8910omnia.com search the site for debranding link and then u'll be guided to a long list of firmwares which u can use. they are all free of charge. remember that u can only use flashing tools with windows xp and after u flash make sure u hard reset ur phone. using *#7370#, after that u can hack it using a signed version of helloOX2
xxx, can u provide a link how to hack & flash the omnia hd for one of the versions u mentioned? thx
Hi. This is a polite reply to KAM. I have read your view but can not get anything relevant. You have complained so much but there are no facts to support your complains . You seem to be emotional, unstable mind and waste so much space dwelling on irrelevances. Next time polish your review, otherwise stop insulting our intelligent by writing incompetent reviews.
the updates for ths phone is a joke, and i agree too. You need to hack the phone and flashed it to latest russian, hong kong, or italian. Then phone will be better off. You can install any 3rd party apps you want.
you need to learn how to get around with the phone bro. This phone is not bad at all.
DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.
Sorry All, I've had this phone since it was released in the UK through Orange. All I can say is what a massive disappointment!!!!!!
All I can say is that this will be the LAST Samsung phone I ever buy. Point the finger squarly at Samsung. Disgusting support, releasing an "flagship" phone that was so buggy it begged belief. Then having to wait months and months and months for software updates to be made available....it's a joke.
So much promised and so little delivered, and then the nail in the coffin.....Samsung look to be pulling out of the Symbian market.....Samsung appear to have just brushed this phone under the carpet.....ESPECIALLY IN THE UK!!!!!!
All those looking into getting this phone.....PLEASE DON'T....look beyond the spec for your own sakes....
Wish I'd waited....with Apple, HTC and now Nokia/Sony producing many more reliable and supported handsets my money is with them when I upgrade!!!!.....
Sorry for the rant but I thought you should all know the hands on experience with this phone.....should you have to debrand?, Should you have to sit and watch while countries where the phone was released later get software upgrades sooner?, Should you have to put up with rubbish support responses from hardware manufacturers.....Am I in the minority when it come to expectation from a company that posts massive profits???!!!
Rant over, no more Samsung phones for me....save your money and invest elsewhere.....
Thanks for listening and for all those that didn't....you were warned...

all in all, iphone has the best music quality.
most of the phones out there play decent music quality. it's a music phone. You think the phone is a hifi sound systems or something? get real guys.

hey, i bought the Genius HP ear-bud earphones for my SOHD with Noise cancellation & bass enhancement. It really add's a new dimension to how SOHD sounds. They are really good. At INR 650 you might consider buying them.
The 1 and only grude i have with SOHD is the mediocre earphones supplied with them.

bro. currently i m usin transend 3.5 mm earphone and it doubles the music ex... moreI really can,t comment if the Nokia phones have a better music quality. We nees to do more tests to come to a final conclusion. The song quality being played also makes a huge difference. You could be right that it could be due to the equaliser settings. But the headphones do make a difference.
Sony Ericsson has known this secret for a long time and thus managed to establish itself as the best music phone brand. The only trick was to give better headphones than provided with the other phones in contemporary market. That was smart of them though I admit that lately they have brought out good music phone devices They however lack in most other departments.
That is the sole reason why people like us buy phones like the Omnia HD which give us the best of every world. so a compromise with the headphones is ok considering the other features.
sajad, 11 Nov 2009vbhv007,
hey frnd currently i m using a 16 gb memory card with it,i have filled 6 ... moreNo I know for sure that it is not the 3rd party applications coz till now I never have installed any. Inbuilt memory is only full to about 2.5 GB.
Let's see how the further days go by. I am hoping it's just temporary.

From my side, I am also very happy that you are open to discussions and suggestions, and that is the true spirit one should have while participating in forums like this.
Things happen and we become all the more wiser from our experiences.
You must understand that I am no where in opposition to the Satio. Infact, I myself spent around a month contemplating b/w the Satio, Pixon 12 & the Omnia HD. It's just that according to my usage and personal preferences the Omnia worked out for me.
If it has to be but one advise that I have to give to you, it would be " A resistive screen sucks so much that you feel like throwing away your phone after using it for a few dz- especially if your friend next door shows you off with a capacitive delicacy." (I am talking about resistive screens- not the Satio necessarily)
The xenon is the ONLY + point that I see. That is where personal usage factor comes in.
I hope you have a good deal suitable for your use.
Hi, I want to buy before winter holidays the Samsung i8910 HD with 16 Gb internal memory but unfortunately in Germany is available only with 8GB. Can you guys let me know in which countries it is already available with 16 GB internal memory? A link to a website that sells the 16GB version would be great.
rohit, 10 Nov 2009hey thanks bro! i was hoping you'd say both work simultaneously, but... anyway, thanks for tes... moreI really wish I could say YES about both playing simultaneously but I guess that's how it is...But on the brighter side we can always check if that idea works on other firmwares.
Any volunteers ?
But regarding the hanging issue. It really does not look promising. Any one application at some time (not always) hangs just out of the blue. Yesterday, my camera application hung. After I took a pic, I went to see it in the gallery. When I tried going back, the screen just went black (Other things working as usual). I tried many times through different paths but in vain. The camera just wudn't show. Ultimately I had to restart. All has been working fine since. Do you think that it is solely the firmware issue ?
