happy ramadan .Thanks Zak
happy ramadan to you to
you know you can buy a real hd camera, real computer with 1.6 ghz. 1 gb ram and 160 gb hd, and a regular phone for LESS than cost of this piece of junk .
which by the way does not record in 720p its a gimmick people dont fall for it
cOR, 07 Sep 2009800? Wow. You could buy a HP Pavilion with thatyour right but pavilion cant fit in your pocket and thats why handheld multimedia devices are expensive ..its all depends on your needs..if you dont get bothered holding a laptop with you all around its definitely a better choice though yet laptops cant shoot hd videos and make phone calls .
sunshine, 07 Sep 2009it is sooooo expensiveits cheaper than the iphone by at least 200$
here in egypt it is sold for around 700$ for the 16gb model where the iphone 3gs 32gb is for 900$
Abdullah, 07 Sep 2009I completely agree with you Zak
Omnia HD still number one phone
well done Samsungwith pleasure abdullah ..

can anyone post the link of the case (cover) for the omnia HD which was written about on gsmarena? there was also this video of the guy showing how the case is fit on the phone and stuff about it.. i just cant seem to find that post.. could anyone please paste the link here?
also, does any1 in india have a good case/cover for their HD? yes, there is a cover provided with it, but putting it in and removing it out is quite a task.. so, if any1 has another case/cover for it, could u please share details as to where it's available? (even if it's available online)

Hi there, I'm just wondering does this Omnia HD support motion sensor such as tapping the phone to play or stop a song, flipping the camera to launch a program or something like that? I saw that feature is available in Samsung Jet. Wondering can any Omnia HD owner share a little? Thank you very much.
I have had this handset for maybe about a month - i have to say i am extremely happy and impressed with the handset.
I love how easy it is to use. I had the old omnia and i really loved windows mobile so i was very hesitant to go onto Symbian. In fact i was extremely against symbian...
I gave it a chance mainly because i was gonna really love the camera and that screen so as soon as i got it on upgrade i set about finding minor bits about the handset.
The only major thing wrong with my handset is that is supported with Orange Firmware thus limiting some of the features. But that's easily changed.
I had it for a month on test now and i have to say i am rather impressed with the overall Handset.
The camera is amazing. The video is amazing and practically everything is amazing.
The video quality deters a bit if you zoom in a lot tho.
The general handset is an overall amazing multimedia maching. The music player is great. The video player plays videos on an amazing looking screen and photos also look sharper.
The only drawbacks i have with this handset is the actual software. Symbian OS is just a bit annoying, i suppose you will get used to it however you will not like some of the features on the first go.
Things such as - if you scroll down like the way you would on an Iphone, it doesn't scroll down, it just follows your fingers (In order to know what i'm talking about you have to play with a symbian phone). You have to double click to access everything. If you press the end call key to get out of some features - the handset still has the last feature as an open app so you will have to manually get rid of it. (say you use the phonebook and called someone - your call log or phone book would still be an open app).
Overall i would seriously recommend this handset. Truly exceptional...
The Samsung i8910 or Player HD like how it's called in France is really good... However, on GSM Arena's review on this website (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsun...w-380p2.php) it is said that the BATTERY is really quite a performer, I don't think I can agree!
Samsung even sent me a new battery dated 14/06/2009 and the old one that came with the handset was dated someday in March 2009. But I guess maybe my phone is faulty - I don't know. I am not a heavy user, a couple of shots and 10min call a day and 10 min of music, mostly on standby and yet I still have to charge the battery every 1.5 days.
I only use GSM network as my O2 sim card does not work properly on 3G, it keeps disconnecting from 3G and messes up my coverage.
The hadnset came from France (unbranded), but it's been updated and changed the firmware twice already to see if the battery and other bugs would be fixed, but nothing!
I would like to hear if anyone else have encountered any problems like I mentioned above.
