There is no complete cell phone whatsoever,at least for now.If we want to take photos,we should get a decent camera. And if we need to capture a clip or more,we better buy a camcorder.A phone is a phone!
Anyway I appreciate the progressing technology.
Mo, 07 Sep 2009Zak, why do u say that this phone is better than the n900? Ive been checking out the n900 and ... moreNOKIA N900 is just a clear propaganda nothing further the phone specifications are very normal ..and i can guarantee from now that it will be as let down as the N97 turned to be..
omnia HD released may 2009 nokia N900 will be released october 2009 and although of that yet the omnia HD will beat the N900 in advance..a quick comparison ..
*3.7 amoled capacitive touch screen for the omnia HD where 3.5 resistive (semi touch) screen for the N900t hats mainly why they placed an additional Key board ..
*they both carry the same hardware specifications !!! whats the point ??? omnia HD is already out since 5 months nokia was supposed to proceed to invent not to make the same specifications and even less..
*8 mega pixel HD camera for the omnia HD , 5 mega pixel for the nokia..
i dont think im in need to proceed :)
i want every one to understand that by any how im not related to samsung and if this device failed to sell or just hit the top charts and made samsung the richest company alive yet i wont benefit by any how im just a user with some needs who took a long time searching and searching and finally he found a good home and he want to share his experience with every one..but keep in mind im saying a good comfortable home not a perfect heavenly one..
i also want every one whose evaluating a cell phone to not forget that at last this is just a cell phone or a handheld multi media device and its not a home theater that is linked to a 47 inch plasma and a ps3 with a couple of air conditions surrounding the place..dont forget that..

actually nothing is new. its just another N97 with different OS, thats it.. nothing new at all.
nokia policy is to sell phones as much as they can.. Specially those days, they never make something new , they always make new phones with same specifications as the old ones but with different design.

i have ever intention of enjoying it :)....n Zak is going down the rite road....cuz this was a suprise concept that samsung introduced...if another handset does it better it wouldnt be because its better its because they had time to view complaints and the requirements for such a feature and also had more time to perfect it....Onmia HD is a Brilliant Phone/Camcorder/Digital Camera/Mp3 Player/HD video Player...etc etc....all issue will never be resolved but the experience of havin this phone is breathe taking....P.S.
why would i try taking a video at night! lol lol....but hamid we should at least commend it for the screen....

Ive been checking out the n900 and its a very good phone almost like a mini pc. In terms of specs and the ui i think that the n900 has a bit of an edge over this phone but i will not wait anymore and buy this phone when it arrives.

Im a bit disappointed, but still love it. Ive had this issue with my ex n95, but those white dots was only visible on the view finder, neither the video nor the still image.
I think video recording methode of this phone is just getting the raw picture from the sensor without make any process or correction on it??
Im still looking forward, if they can correct this common issue with the "Coming up soon" software update.
till that time trying to be happy with other things( lets say just the display),LOL
Anyways, thanks for the reply,
Be happy with your new HD ;=)
hamid, 06 Sep 2009Hey Mo,
The flash was off during capturing, i just wanted to show you those damn things are... moreive browsed that problem of dead pixels online and according to technical sources any LCD screens are considered non-defective up to 5 dead pixels..
which means that the margin of 1 to 5 dead pixels is allowed without a problem..
+ what do any one be having interest to shoot a video in full darkness ???
i havent tried that on my own cos the phone shoots videos in sunlight more than perfect and i have no interest to shoot a video in a total darkness..
no further sources online about this problem...but samsung announced that their latest firmware update will soon be available world wide so hopefully for night shooters this problem will be fixed..
and by the way yet i consider this phone much innovative than then NOKIA N900 think rationally ..this phone was made to shoot HD video and its equipped by an unbeatable amoled 3.7 screen so unless the phone your comparing too can do these couple of jobs the comparison is actually out of sync.
about the HTC touch HD i had it before this phone its a very good phone but i have to admit that windows mobile killed its performance the phone is extremely slow in performing commands if you care for a speedy device forget completely about win mo devices about the HTC Hero its a nice phone but i consider Iphone whether 3gs or even 3g a better choice but if you want to upgrade for a heftier device go for the samsung omnia HD so far its the best hand set available today.
these are my own opinions according to my needs in a handheld multimedia device..
and i would go now for a quick description about my needs so every one can choose accordingly ..
i was looking for :
a speedy quick phone that does not suffer from a lot of lags non is preferred and can save me holding a camera and an ipod + running some of my business applications and gives me the chance to have a nice descent preview of any multimedia file whether a video a music or a picture in addition that im not in to resistive touch screens cos i hate using a stylus whether a keypad or my fingers so after a deep search in the market most devices were disqualified for me cos very few devices does have a capacitive touch screen what remained was the HTC Hero, iphone 3gs and the omnia HD (im not in to toshiba and LG ) and according to the comparison i made before i went with omnia cos it visualized perfectly what i was looking for.so if what your looking for is some how similar to mine youll enjoy the omnia HD i guarantee if you can sacrifice having an amoled 3.7 screen ,descent speakers and a good camera in your phone the iphone 3gs is the perfect choice though it wont save you cos so far its the most expensive cell phone ever invented.
so we just want to be fair the guys at samsung made a very good job but yet if your looking for a high end device from every aspect i would recommend you seek sony and cannon for an HD camera you seek apple for an Ipod and buy a normal phone for a few dollars that just has accept and reject buttons.
just have some time with your self and think what else will you be needing in a cell phone ? to brew cofee ? to shave your beard?.

Going thru the posted comments, u have been one of the main supporters of this handset....now i see u thrashing it completely....what gives!?! I'll be buy this handset on friday 11th September 2009....for all the following reasons...I actually like symbian...8mp is a step from my last Nseries N80...HD video recording...To hell with Xenon cuz where i'm from....Use at night is a risk(if u know wha i mean)...The apps and firmware upgrades are few but patience is virtue...choicing Sony Ericsson/LG/HTC is just stupid if u wanna upgrade from this phone...so that practically rules out all but the Iphone 3gs....i for one, i'm over Apple....I'm not saying hamid does have a good point and right to be disappointed...the handset had no hardware issue so far which is good...all issues are software...software can be updated....hardware can only be replaced....try looking at it from a different point of view......PEACE!!

The flash was off during capturing, i just wanted to show you those damn things are more visible in the dark(especially in hd mode)
And Abdullah is right, they show themselves brighter in hd mode and they move to corners or hide when you zooming
seems he has the same issue.
Thats the result of mass production, they shoot milions of devices on the market without care how much you wasting your money.
I couldnt imagine this phone would have such issue when i first saw the specs 3mounth ago, you spend like $700 on a hd phone then you notice the hd video is not real hd and you should have such sh**s on the video
Im so sad:(

I do not have this phone but i was wondering why the lighting was so bad on the video Hamid posted. I wanted to know whether he had his flash on or not coz if it was on the flash would be really weak.
when will the new symbian touch optimized OS be released more or less? anyone knows?
2) some ppl say Apple iPhone 3GS has a more 'powerful' version of the ARM A8 cortex processor than the Satio - what do they mean or are they exactly the same in every respect?
thanks - look forward to hear from u
This phone introduced in India about a month back and many members here bought. Today I went to few shops in bangalore, but did not get it. Can anybody suggest where it available in Bangalore? Price?

As much as I love the i8910 and it screen it will have to take second place to the N900 which is really a pocket pc with all the latest phone technologies. This phone runs a real computer Os. I can only imagine the price.
JAK, 06 Sep 2009Hello everybody, I am planning to buy Samsung i8910 Omnia HD,but some of my friends say HTC... moreHey JAK, The Touch hd nor the Hero are in the i8910's class they are more on the iphones level. Here is why. The Hero is capacitive touch with 320 by 480 pixels and the display is only 3.2inchs, in these days its 3.5 and up or nothing. The Touch hd is resistive touch so it wont be as smooth. The display is 480 by 800 and 3.8inchs. They both have 65k colors. Now the i8910 has the AMOLDE screen which is the best in the world, its capacitive touch and and the display is 3.7inchs and 360 by 640 pixels it also has 16m colors. The i8910 and the Touch hd both have Fm radio the Hero does not. Both the Hero and Touch hd has a 5mp camera with on flash and cannot shoot or play hd videos. The i8910 has a 8mp camera with led flash and can shoot and play hd videos. Both the Touch hd and the Hero has 288mb of ram and 512mb of rom and you will have to buy a microSD card. They come with a 528mhz processor. The i8910 has a huge 8/16Gb storage and 256mb of rom and you can buy a microSD card of up to 32gb. It comes with a 600mhz processor. The i8910's battery is bigger and the screen technologie should give it better life. But if you have to give them something them its the Os in the Hero which is Android. But lets remember the i8910 has Symbian which is one of the best out there. The i8910 is a monster compared to these two phones. So now the choice is yours. Let me no what you think.
N900 kills this in terms of software (apps, programs and games). N900 can emulate almost everything: PSP, Android, Symbian, Java Mobile and last, but not least, Linux.
