I wonder when will Samsung release this phone in Singapore. According to it's website, it's suppose to launch last Saturday. Yet today I went to check it's still not out. How sad this is
The networks in South Africa better get their behinds into gear and release this phone, because I'm sure I speak for many other South Africans when I say WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF WAITING FOR THIS PHONE!

GSMArena Team, 31 Jul 2009GSMArena said that the iPhone performs better in direct sunlight!
THEY NEVER SAID the iphon... more"GSMArena said that the iPhone performs better in direct sunlight!
THEY NEVER SAID the iphone has a better screen"
This is a quote straight from the review (page 2): "The Omnia HD screen is better by the recent crop of Samsung phones, but still remains inferior to the Apple iPhone displays, for example."
Their main complaint seems to be legibility under direct sunlight, but it seems to me that they're clearly says that while the i8910's screen is superior to other Samsung phones, it remains inferior to the iPhone.
Aside from that, the comment wouldn't make much sense if it was based solely on sunlight readability. Other recent Samsung phones were much better for viewing under direct sunlight.
it is NOT the review that change my opinion of this phone, it is the damn LONG LONG WAIT for this phone.
if its not out, I'll buy other phone instead ...
The fact there´s not any cellphone with HD videorecording in the market don´t allow to Samsung to lie and make marketing tricks. The specifications are very clear "720p 24fps." It never happen. By the way i´ve never liked the korean products.
As far as spec is concerned, you are all right. This phone is amazingly feature rich. This is, for the time being the perfect replacement for the N95 8GB.
At the time, the N95 8GB, in my opinon was the most complete phone in it's day. But not once did I have any issue with the device. The phone worked from day one and still continues to work. No firmware upgrade required.
I got my i8910 from Orange as soon as it was released and am still waiting for a satisfactory conclusion regarding all the bugs the early version of the phone has.
Theres no denying that the is a bit of a multi media tour de force. It's just far from acceptable to still be waiting well over a month for the firmware to put the issues right to be released to all those UK i8910 users not wanting to debrand.
I've even had my latest post on the Samsungmobile.co.uk website removed for being "aggressive". Not at any point did I use foul langauge, I simply spoke of my experience so far when dealing with Samsung and Orange.
Maybe the truth hurts.......
Hopefully Samsung and Orange will help me out.....I don't hold my breath.....but I do have my fingers crossed :)
Russ, 02 Aug 2009Do you mean you can use your fingers to do the writing.Or do you mean use the keyboard to type... moreUse your finger to "hand-write" whatever you want in addition to using your fingers to "type" the letters that are shown on the screen..
Please tell me if it is still not clear, I'll explain again I have no problem with that.
jrah jr, 02 Aug 2009hey guys, wats good. I just want to know if the omnia has like a little pen thing like the 580... moreI think you can use the pen on it, because they sell them for it on Ebay. 90% of people would tell you its definitely better than the N97.

hey guys, wats good. I just want to know if the omnia has like a little pen thing like the 5800 nokia.. and is this phone really better than the n97?
Russ, 02 Aug 2009Do you mean you can use your fingers to do the writing.Or do you mean use the keyboard to type... morethe full keyboard comes up on the screen or you can put on like a phone keypad on the screen and then you just touch the letters to type it out.
I forgot to mention this as well, a word of caution for those that are getting the phone unlocked for use in the U.S. with AT&T, The phone might not be used for 3G access in 2010 due to a band switch in the network from the 1900mhz that they use now to an 850mhz. Just a note of caution. any answers to my previous questions would definitely be appreciated though
