frodi, 17 May 2009ok what do you mean by better audio ? near 8000 Khz ?Not sure about rising of rate up to 16000, but the codec could be changed to aac for sure. It would give a much better sound.
frodi, 17 May 2009do you think that the sound can be improved with a coming update or it's a hardware issue ? It can be altered by an update it is an issue that it wont be able to encode video with very high qulity sound, but it is definetly capable of a better quality.
do you think that the sound can be improved with a coming update or it's a hardware issue ?
Phil, 17 May 2009You should try comparing Stefan's video to the YouTube HD Camera Trick challenge. Here's the l... morei have placed video on you tube aswell but it not there. Why it is taking so long ???
I looked at the video from the rapidshare link. Quality ok, but not better than my Pixon.
I think it is good phone but too expensive and too big. Now you can have HD video recording with the tiny camera Canon ixus 100 for 250 euros...and HDMI cable output.
You should try comparing Stefan's video to the YouTube HD Camera Trick challenge. Here's the link:
On the introduction it clearly states: "Shot using the Samsung HD I8910 camera phone. It has not been altered or edited in any way."
Well something's amiss here because the quality of the youtube video supposedly shot on the I8910 does not remotely compare to the video quality of the retail product. Both are similar scenarios, someone talking whilst a bit of low volume music plays in the background. It doesn't even begin to compare. Whereas the YouTube clip is of high quality in every sense, Stefan's video is rubbish. Lots of visual noise and aural squelching. This isn't right at all. What's gone wrong here - can anyone hazard a guess?
This is another Rapidshare link for Stefan's video if anyone's interested. I'll leave it up for a limited time but there's no download limit until then.
so what do the people who have the phone think,is it as good as we want it to be

Ops, sorry for confusing your nick. I was just adressing to you Stephan.
I dont know what it is installed in the orange firmware, but the most resembling to safari is the orginal built in browser. They are both based on the web kit. Have you ever worked with Symbian?
Tru this Opera-mini mod. It worked like charm on 5800.
There is still no Opera 9.5 are you trying to install Windows Mobile version? There is no 9.5 version for Symbian.
Also try UCWeb it also works on 5800 well.
What you disliked about Ozone? It it blazing fast and it works great with flash on the web pages.

mark, 17 May 2009orange shop in my town centre had them satyrday but done my order online to get the cheaper mo... moreMark - where did you order your phone online? According to Orange.co.uk it's still listed as 'coming soon'.
I was in town earlier and popped in to orange for a hands on look at the phone and had a play around with it. I didn't get to play with all the features but it really is a cracking phone. It looks lovely albeit a bit plastic looking but when the screen's on, that's all you're looking at and it's phenomenal. Crystal clear, very responsive touch, really nice. I was so tempted to get it but at the back of my mind I kept thinking 'audio, the audio, don't forget the audio'. So I thanked them for the look and left. I can overlook every other flaw except for the awful audio -it's one compromise I'm not prepared to make. Sorry Samsung.
