600 euros for that phone ?
For 250 euros i got a real camera casio S12 with HD video, and for 200 euros i get a nice Samsung S5600 touchscreen phone...That makes only 450 euros
Samsung Omnia HD will not released in Windows Mobile edition, but there will be Android Omnia handsets. The reason Samsung is picked Symbian over WinMo for the Omnia HD because of Microsoft's delay in launching Windows Mobile 6.5. Another interesting fact is that Samsung wants to launch more handsets from the Omnia family and some of them will run on Android.
This phone is too much !! Too big, too heavy, too expensive... I prefer to get the successor of my great Pixon, available in 2009 and hopefully with 12 Mp and HD video recording
only 128 of RAM !!!! they should upgrate RAM memory for Windows Mobile 6.5 , coz even SE X1 has more RAM memory but still has some problems with WM

2.0 vs 5.0 camera.
The only good thing about the me-phone is the touchscreen, hence the UI interface is better in some way. However, I can do better with a finger, stylus, and mouse. Just try to do some quick image editing. Mawahaha... I got the mouse!
Anonymous, 21 Mar 2009i dont think there will be a winmo version of this one.. they are all rumors, i dont think sam... moreYou may be right that Samsung should redesign the phone for WM 6.5. But based on the technical specifications and on the name of this phone, I believe that Samsung will bring this Omnia HD with WM.
The use of an ARM Cortex A8 is way too much power for Symbian OS. It can process 2.5x faster than the current Omnia processor at a lower electrical speed. Such processor for the use of a Symbian OS is simply a waste of money (or investment from Samsung perspective), unless Samsung plans to offer us an even faster processor for the WM. :)
Let's not forget that the Omnia has reached 1 full year cycle yet, not until this coming July.
iphone shouldnt be compare with this phone. damn, this phone has a graphic card! and it can also record shots with HD format. this is a good news for my 12 years old brother who wants to own my iphone.
davido, 22 Mar 2009the nokia n97 rocks whatre you talking about???
that phone is a good one but how can you say ... moreits better than n97, or any nokia phones..
this phones has 8mp, HD video recording, oled backlight, etc..
and n97 has?
one finger multittouch for 5800/n97 very simple to implement zoom/rotate control by doubletapping you set a control point and when you drag the control takes efect need just one hand to controll (multitouch needs two hands to control - you have to hold the device with other hand
develope it now and upload it to Ovi store, make it free or donationware:) no more iphone is needed!
