3. will my phone be damaged if i install 3rd party firmware?
4. can i use flash light when i take picture at night if i m using a 3rd party firmware?
thank you all who reply to this.
even now i would prefer to omnia i8910 hd where n8 and iphone 4g r in comparision.other phones r not in the comparision list also!!!!!
owen, 18 May 2010thanks for that..can u give web site for this.Owen,
For the Hyperx Custom Firmware u can get it here:
For the Faenil Custom Firmware u can get it here:
Both are very stable [meaning they don't crash], both come with steady 720p@24fps HD recording unlike Samsung firmware which skips frames while recording, both also come with pre-autofocus so videos are clear smooth! Camera has been tweaked for better photos, both come fully hacked [u can installed virtually any symbian app without certificate errors], both have kinetic scrolling throughout the entire User Interface [including the menu], both provide more free memory on C: drive.....what i'm saying it that they both are better than any samsung firmware u can find! so try them out.....
heres a video on how they to flash:
they both flash in the same way! good luck!
make sure phone is fully charged
make u remove ur memmory card if u are using one
and before u flash ur phone make a backup of whatever important stuff u have installed.....also after u go through this checklist.....dial *#7370# to reset ur phone....then follow the steps in the video

Resistive screens cannot support multitouch. Only capacitive ones. But Samsung has left that away or Symbian 5th edition cannot support that feature.

Flashing has only one HUGE risk..."bricking" ur phone....which means ur phone nevers comes on again...but that can only happen if:
1. the USB cable gets disconnected during flashing
2. Phone battery goes dead during flashing
3. Power outage (if using a desktop)
4. If flashing software is closed during a flash
If u notice all of these issue can be avoided and all are based on human error...so if u ensure that ur phone has sufficient battery life, u are using a laptop if possible, u make sure phone cant be accidentally knocked down or disconnected...thats the risk!

I am wondering if this phone, via a software update, can support multi-touch ? Or the hardware does not support that option ?
Though, the screen is capacitive; therefore could support that feature.
