I have been using this phone for two months and the only complain i have is from AT&T. They killed many good features embeded in android software and even after their JH7 update GPS still loses signal. I finaly found a prereleased froyo upgrade about 20 hours ago and the good news is it is working perfectly... Even the gps! And funny thing is that both usb and wifi tethering are enabled. I897UCJI6

I have had this phone for a week Captivate. I absolutely love this phone. I had this phone out today for 7 hours and still had 75% battery left. i was talking on the phone for a little over an hour, my email checks every 15 mins and sent a few txts. I am not dropping calls and my everyone can hear me.
Recommend this phone to anyone and everyone who needs email and phone in one.

I have had 2 Captivate galaxy s phones within 3 weeks and am going to get a different cell. Battery life isn't very good, MANY dropped calls, was unable to answer the phone a couple times, callers couldn't hear MANY times, callers also would call it would ring twice the either dead air or busy signal. Not worth the hassle anymore

I used a full charged (100%) phone (it took 3 hours to get it there from a 4% juice) only for calls to check the actual's claimed by Samsung. I turned off all internet activity, background data, 3G network, animations, min screen brightness and didn't even text. I received only 2 calls and called out rest of the times. The total "standby plus calling time" for which the phone lasted was 43 hours which had 11 hours 43 mins(92% of battery use out of the 96% i had consumed before started charging it again) of total voice calls and 1 hour 37 mins (6% of the battery use out of the 96%) of display use which i guess again includes the time display is ON when you dial the numbers, hang up etc during the calls..
KUDOS!!
that's cool i guess..
but my NOKIA E72 does better (sorry to compare to way diff phones, but i am a HUGE fan of the way NOKIA phones' batteries last!!!). A full charge gets me through to about 38 hours with 11 hours of talking, texting, alarms, incoming calls ringing, email checking 10 times a day, occasional Google search.
The only diff here i believe is the high powered samsung processor (1Ghz over Nokia's 600 Mhz)
