The perfectionist seems to be you, not me. You're the one ranting on about Samsung's policies, which is their concern, not yours. I know two people who have a SGS and are quite happy with Gingerbread v2.3.3 and can't see any problem with it.
If you are as clever as you make yourself out to be and you are not happy with v2.3.3 then why not flash the phone yourself to v2.3.5 and BE happy?
I flashed my phone to v2.3.5 and rooted it as well in about 15 minutes. If you or anyone else is interested in doing the same then go here to find out how to do it:

and here to install the Chainfire Kernel to root it:

2.3.5 official or rooted one ?
100% rooted thing only.
are you happy with the way samsung release updates ?
Do you think pushing update is much complicated thing for a company like samsung?
its just matter of 4 developers and 6 testers. Samsung cont afford to hire 10 ppl on the device that sold over 10 million?
10 people and 10 days more then enough to push a update out. anyways what you using 2.3.5 is came out from 2/3 peoples hard work only and also they may concentrated less then 15 days only.
Ur fnd,
Praveen.

I have looked at various web sites and they all seem to agree that the Galaxy S was released in June 2010, which means that it has only been available for 16 months.
How come you've had one for 18 months?
-----------------------------------------
Just for the record, my Galaxy S in running Gingerbread v2.3.5 and there is absolutely NO lag whatsoever!
Hi All
all the people who have problems with the lag, lag alg, try upgrading to a custom rom Like Darky rom 10.2.2. I had a battery life of 8 hours Standby with Froyo 2.2 and now with darky rom its fast and lag free. I get 5 days with stanby. 3days of battery when using it regularly. I was a beginner with custom roms and it was very easy to do. Do remember if you do it incorrectly your phone will be blocked, meaning it will not work if you do it incorrectly..
Thanksss
In Applications, When I tap Calender but Calender did not open and options of Face Book and Google accounts are opened. Why ?

Samsung please hire software professionals also, who can make your phones ( S & S2) lag free and updates faster.
I am saying the same from last year.
Whats the use of great hardware without functioning smoothly.
For Example, whats the use of front camera, when its not working with gtalk. Galaxy Ace which doesnt have front camera is updated with 2.3.4, whats the use.
though the download is successful when i download any song or ringtone in mp3 format, it do not plays when i restart my fone. it automatically change to mpeg format nd the fone do not support it. why is that so?

Who has a good idea of rooting? I found 2 ways of rooting my phone either "Root XXJVO Gingerbread ROM" or "Root XWJVH Gingerbread ROM". The thing is I don't know which one to choose? My "Baseband version" is "I9000XXJVO" and my "Build number" is "GINGERBREAD.XWJVH". Since I have both "XXJVO" and "XWJVH" I don't know which guide to follow if someone could kindly help me out please.
