Fickie, 04 May 2011Hi Guys
You people seem to know a lot. I am undecided between the Galaxy and the N8??? Whic... more I own both the N8 and the SGS.
The N8 is a solidly built phone with HDMI out, USB on the go and a 12 Mega pixel camera with Xenon flash. It also comes with 16 GB of internal storage ( there is also a 32 GB version available ) plus an SD slot for a further 32 GB of storage.
However, it runs on Symbian OS which will be discontinued by the start of next year when the new Nokia / WP7 phones are released. Nokia have promised to continue support for Symbian for the next 18 months to 2 years. Symbian Anna ( formerly known as PR 2.0 ) will start rolling out over the next couple of months or so, and there are rumours of a PR 3.0 being released too by the end of the year.
The SGS is a decent enough Android phone and is very fast and responsive when updated to 2.2.1. The screen is nice and big at 4" and colour reproduction is crisp and vibrant.
There is the promise of Gingerbread being released for the SGS quite soon ( it was actually released at the end of April, but was pulled by Google on the same day ), but that will probably be the last update the SGS will get.
So, if you are looking for a solid phone with a brilliant camera and are not really bothered about " apps " then go for the N8.
If you want a phone with plenty of " apps " then the SGS is for you.
Hope that helps.

Not sure if this is true, but if it is.. its awesome !
Fickie, 04 May 2011Hi Guys You people seem to know a lot. I am undecided between the Galaxy and the N8??? Whic... moreI would recommend Galaxy S. Symbian are not getting any better even with ^3. People dont seem to consider symbian a smartphone anymore. But in the end it all depends upon what you are looking for in a phone.
You people seem to know a lot. I am undecided between the Galaxy and the N8??? Which one should I get and why. Please don't advise me to RIM, Apple or HTC. Thanks.

GALAXY S, 03 May 2011Hey, bro, what's up? Quite a while off of here... :) What ROM are you on now? I'm on Darky v1... moreYes, even i'm not posting any much comments, but i always come to read other comments.. i'm using Darky 9.5 since it's already stable and i like the "Call Recording" option as well.. plus Juice Defender is really helpful if you are using 3G connection... ;-)
Such a damn expensive phone not even having a basic flash for The camera!! Stupid phone I tell you.. Camera only good at daytime. Buy the wave II much better phone. Super fast great camera and solid built. All aluminium not cheap plastic like this one. Enjoy!!!

its an amazing phone which i have ever seen.. first i had I-phone 3G but after using this phone i sold out my I-phone and seeing this all my friends also bought Samsung I9000 Galaxy S and they also thanked me to introduce this phone....

Absolutely cannot be compared to even iPhone 3gs in terms of response to touch. Galaxy S hangs up a lot and internet browsing is also very harassing experience.
ronaldo, 03 May 2011i am getting rid of my nokia n97 and i want to knw which is better to get the galaxy s or the ... moreGood decision to switch to Android....Can't say enything about Desire HD because I haven't tryed it. About Galaxy S.....definatly the best display in the business with fantastic brightness, wonderfull video recording, very fast(after the upgrade to 2.2), pretty good audio quality, great connectivity packege, wonderfull for playing games.....of course there are some cons...the most annoying is that you're playing games and browse intensively the battery is not going to last more than a day....at best! The second is that the camera isn't the best around....I believe that Galaxy S is a great phone with far more strong points then weak ones! And it's worth having one!
The gingerbread update for Galaxy S is becoming a real soap opera! Does enybody know if the official update is STILL going to be released? If it doesn't. .....after Samsung announced it that would prove that Samsung might produce the best phones but they aren't interested in providing after-sale support for their costumers!...
