BlueOrange, 28 Mar 2011seriously? your 2.2.1 is lagging? your the only person I know that says 2.2.1 is lagging. even... moreI actually flashed 2.3.3 already (XXJVK) and for me it was a mixed bag. The UI appears to be faster compared to JS8 (as well as JS7 and JS5 for that matter) but seems to be a bit sluggish when handling apps. Battery is something I am still observing although people are saying that it gave them the best battery performance ever.
I am not quite sure if the sluggish behavior is related to app compatibility or the OS itself and so I am thinking of going back to JS8. In terms of UI, its a bit slower than JVK but as far as overall performance is concerned, its the one from which I had the smoothest performance from my phone. What do you think? Just in case, I've installed the version of JVK with the bootloader for GB but based from discussions in XDA, this bootloader should work fine with 2.2.1.

I9000 is newly launched with Android 2.2 from Samsung.
Do not believe ppl on this forum who are just writing without concrete proof.
In fact, you should not believe me also without confirming yourself. You can call up Samsung themselves to confirm. Also you can call up Flipkart, Letsbuy, Adexmart, Poorvika, Nueteche or any store that is selling I9000 in your region.
I myself have bought I9000 for Rs.22410.
And yes, I9000 will get Gingerbread upgrade:
Android778, 27 Mar 2011My phone came with the official 2.2.1 right out of the box. It is still lagging alot.seriously? your 2.2.1 is lagging? your the only person I know that says 2.2.1 is lagging. even w/ the RFS, the phone is fast now compared to 2.2 & 2.1.
another leaked 2.3 is out again. this time, it's a 2.3.3 XXJVK firmware. the firmware is BETA but you can flash it on your phone (via Odin) if you like.

feature or without rooting also we can
change the complete ui of the phone?

I know this because our company decided to refurbish these phones 2 months back, and I was in charge of seeing through the process.
The i9000's were delivered clean to the various outlets, and then it seems Android 2.2 was installed by the outlets themselves. Samsung did NOT install 2.2 on these phones.
i9003 however is a brand new phone. Although some of the hardware is the same as the original SGS, they were manufactured fresh this year.

N about lagfix..even if you use lagfix, dont expect the phone to be as smooth as i-phone..it still hangs terribly..even the games and videos lag periodically..

It's a great phone to have... moreHi, I almost agree with you, except for GPS and Battery, GPS works fine for me and battery its 2Days for normal use( make sure u r cleaning up background data/app stuff if you dont need them,i think its android issue), I am using this phone for last 6 months overall I feel its great Hardware but Samsung has poor support for post sale Samsung has CORRECT this attitude if they want to be in race common even XPERIA X10 is getting Gingerbread!!!
I bought my Galaxy S i9000 from Letsbuy.com, and arrived in 4 days. It's a great phone to have, however there are some very well known issues with this phone.
1). Came with upgraded version of Android (i.e. Froyo 2.2.1)
2). Nice display
3). 16GB inbuilt memory
1). The phone gets terribly heated up when GPS, GPRS work together
2). GPS never works(unless you have WiFi) - this is a known issue with the original Samsung Galaxy S, but they never fixed it it seems. To fix it, you will have to root your phone and that kills the warranty!
3). Battery life is less than 1 day
4). Speaker volume is very feeble, headset is just an average type nothing great to speak about.
5). There is a solid lag in the response. (lagfix is available in the market for rooted phones, however that voids the warranty so i didn't try). This is a major problem which I am experiencing, and it is spoiling the experience of my new phone. Even Samsung Galaxy Ace does not lag like this one :(
While I am trying to sort the issue with Samsung, new buyers please be aware of the product. The interest here is just to keep everyone updated, no intention to tarnish the image of Letsbuy or Samsung.
