ediwitch, 12 Oct 2010did you resolve your problem with media scanner ?Dear ediwitch, no I did not resolve my problem, however yesterday after going on the internet again with the phones internal browser, I noticed something when the downloaded files was displayed, all the music that I downloaded was still listed there.
The path is as follows; Internet browser< menu< more< downloads. I looked at the details of some of the mp3 files and found out they are stored on the SD card, but as I mentioned earlier the SD card is already loaded with content. It is a 1G SD card and is FULL.
But the problem that I encounter is why isn't my internal music player picking up the mp3's?, Why isn't the mp3 listed in the recently added section? I cant find it in my internal music player when I search for it. But when I follow the path through the internal internet browser and go to downloads I can see my files and play it with the internal music player.
What I want to know is what did I do wrong, I mean the external card is full, no space, why? didn't the download manager save the files on the internal mass memory.

Cambodia SGS, 13 Oct 2010Hi, everybody, I have a question to ask,.. First i haven't upgrade my firmware yet.. it's... moreEven on jm9 now the best eclair yet especially the slim version which removes lots of apps that i never use like daily briefing also removes things like the live wallpapers which really do the battery and ram.
duey, 13 Oct 2010 no im not using the standard jm8 kernal im using a custom kernelWhich jm8 are you using im using jm9
paul, 12 Oct 2010Apparantly the galaxy can be overclocked to 1.6ghz safely but not sure if thats true, are you ... mores overclock certainly reduces the battery more faster but sometimes its not working perfect hangs the phone most of the time so i did'nt over experiment with that bec now am with froyo eclair can be done with kernal but with froyo u cant still waiting for the one to make for froyo... yup it can go up to 1.6ghz(stable) is surprz but biggest problem is draining battery and its already gets heat with 1ghz so extra battery can be handy for overclock.....
Cambodia SGS, 13 Oct 2010Hi, everybody,
I have a question to ask,.. First i haven't upgrade my
firmware yet.. it's... moreGood point, this is also my question, how do I upgrade software on Galaxy S
I know your supposed to use Kies or something but if like me your phone is Vodafone brand with the 360 nonsense can this still be achieved.
My current software looks like I9000BUJG1. IS this upto date?
Ayush, 12 Oct 2010HI.. I am thinking to buy this phone. But I have heard that the phone looks cheap??Is iet true... moreeveryone thinks the plastic is cheap but its really not its a flexible plastic which means even the phone drop down it wont makes much damage and it made to make the phone lite weighted one.....

Hi, I have tried 2 ScanDisk 32gb microSDHC class 6 cards on my galaxy s phone & both time comes up as damaged card and it cannot read it?
Can someone tell me what the problem is? Is there an issue with 'higher class'SD card?
Is the phone's tecnology upto class 2 or lower? The phone is on 2.1 version.
Galaxy S VS HTC Desire
This is my own opinion having owned bot handsets.
Calls- I find the Galaxy S to have much better call signal and reception overall. On my Desire I found a constantly crackling noise in the background and poor signal most of the time.( Vodafone is my provider and normally good)
Loudspeaker- Again Galaxy wins this by miles as Desire has probably worst mic/speaker I have came accross on a phone.
Interface-Desire wins hands down with HTC Sense and overall much more user friendly.
Speed-Desire again wins on this sections being much quicker navigating around the phone and has no lag what so ever whereas Galaxy does lag from time to time.
Battery life- Galaxy wins this sections by a long way. I really struggled to get 1 day from Desire but Galaxy can go for 2 days with all extras open and ful brightness.
Video player-Both screens looks amazing but Galaxy wins this section and still to come accross a file that Galaxy S will not play.
Camera- This is a tough call, Galaxy wins for photo performance but without flash can cause problems sometime.
WIFI- Excellent on both phones and probably same performance.
Video recording. GALAXY BY MILES-quality is stunning on recording video in good light but because quite poor in low light but that can be expected.
Desire has terrible video quality even when upgraded to Froyo and sound when recording was WORST I HAVE EXPERIENCED ON ANY HANDSET.
Sound on Galaxy S when video recording is just acceptable but nothing as good as Nokia N95 or most nokia phones whcih is a shame, Why develope such amazing HD video with average sound.
I hope this will help some decide which phone is best for there needs.
I think in this range of Money this phone is the best .
I Love it , I have it , I'm from Iran , here this phone is expensive .
But I prefer this phone instead of HTC desire or HTC HD2 or ever Iphone4 .
surely you have the best selection .
