Does the UK/EUROPEAN version of SGS have a STEREO fm radio and FM transmitter?
1) Im reading a lot about SGS versions everywhere else having only a mono fm radio.
2) Is there Firmware that turns on an FM transmitter in the SGS?
jason, 19 Sep 2010Qs to all owners of this phone. What is the main problem / issue that you find in this phone. ... moreThe big problem with Galaxy S is that it lags a lot. 2.1 can install lagfix but the latest beta 2.2 still lags to much so I do not know if Samsung ever will be able to fix this and I do not know if lagfix works on 2.2.

Good luck trying to find your battery covers all the time you loose. Apple is smart and made it without because iDon't like loosing my battery cover daily.

Qs to all owners of this phone. What is the main problem / issue that you find in this phone.
I am planning to purchase this handset sometime soon.
have had the Galaxy S for 2 days. What a delight after a year with the restrictive iPhone 32g 3gs.
Straight off the shelf the Android unit is more than a normal phone whether it being simple functions like call forwarding choices, true blue blooth (I had to jail break to get iPhone to do this) and wifi hotspot as standard! And of course video calls too. The contacts/sim were an even copy over too and mo fiddly nonsense in getting around the phone the way YOU want to do it. And no iTunes mess on my PC. At last. what a relief!

Well, I thought I'd share a few things with you guys. First of all,I got this phone a while ago, approximately a week.
Alright, the first major reported "issue" with the phone is its battery life. Well, it's a wide subject the battery... I've charged it 3 times since I took it, last charge being 4 days ago. The first 2 times I charged I was using wi-fi, 3G network, downloading, installing, having the display brightness on the maximum settings, etc, using it fairly over the top. The battery lasted a little more than a day those days. If you don't use such power consuming modes and the like, the battery life can last for about 5 days, I assume. That's pretty decent.
The signal issue is the 2nd thing I wanted to discuss. Yeah, I've had moments where I've been on the receiving end of bad reception, but I'm not sure whether that was the phone's fault. In any case, under such circumstances, the loudspeaker's quality drops. It isn't -VERY- good in the first place, but I wouldn't use a loudspeaker for much in the first place.
The smoothness, the UI and applications. The phone has it all, it's extremely smooth, very fast, handles multitasking flawlessly. I truly have no bad thing to say there.
The design, weight. Yeah, the phone is indeed plastic when you take a look. But truth be told, you don't pay much attention. The phone is slim, feels amazing in the hand, isn't heavy NOR is it light like many people say. It's just -right-. So no remarks there either.
The display. Oh the display... You know, I've heard people say "You gotta see it to believe it". People on reviews saying "The camera simply doesn't do this phone's display any justice". I never believed that. Well, now that I'm looking at my TFT widescreen monitor... Damn, it looks dull. So very dull compared to the super AMOLED. I can't imagine a better screen.
My only major remark would go for the headset. The headset's jack is very... rugged. Or fickle... Something along those lines. I simply dislike it, I've got problems with it. Being a TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve) jack, I have to use force to plug the sleeve all the way into its socket.
Final words - Phone's a beast. Truly something astonishing. Most of the "problems" I've heard people talk about are just that - talk, with nothing to back it up.
I hope I've helped some guys here make a decision and that I've been helpful.
