This is a great great phone ...its fantastic...its awesome...the screen is so good...Android works like a dream and the options and the apps available are so useful that i am thinking why i didnt buy this phone earlier...I bought this from an official Samsung dealer in Pune, India for 28800 with bill and a scratch guard...i have been using this phone for about 4 days now and i am blown away ....love the screen , love SWYPE(the reason why u dont need a slider keyboard with this phone) people may not trust Samsung as they do Nokia in India but they are plain wrong...go for this phone...u will never regret it ...the phone is so light to handle with a gr8 battery and no reception issues that its mind blowing...this in turn protects the phone since even if it falls being light it will damage the phone less...only thing is to be careful not to put any key or hard object with phone in the same pocket else it may damage the glass screen...A-GPS is also great ...loving the phone more and more by the minute....desperately waiting for the Froyo update now...
so when the froyo update is coming ?
will the 512 ram supports in froyo ?

I've used iphone , htc desire and galaxy s.No hesitation in saying that galaxy is the best phone available in the market at present. The phone beats all its rivals by a noticeable margin.
just a feedback
i posted about the back cover ICON of android instead of the GOOGLE word, i emailed samsung MEA & they replied that they have released such with android ICON simple as that, anyways gud they replied back.

Darshan, 23 Aug 2010I activated gprs (EDGE), then only the position pointer came on the google map. I mean, som... moreNothing is wrong mate..........If u have GPS system for a car......The maps are loaded(copied into it),also I think Nokia has loaded(pre) maps in it. But Samsung Galaxy Doesnt have this...so it needs GPRS or net connection to get the map details........If there is some way to load the maps in2 this samsung galaxy then we wont need GPRS.
Amazing phone I had ever seen. Top notch in all the specs in the current scenario phones. definitely worth the money. awe-inspiring functions and usability. watch your step every moment, coz its flimsy and may easily slip off from your hand/pocket.
I just bought one a few days ago and am very impressed. I have been an HTC fan with all of their Android phones and never thought I'd switch but this Samsung Galaxy S is one amazing fast and powerful smartphone. The screen is big and bright and very clear. I highly recommend this phone.

Location: Melbourne/AU. The 'S' has been operating flawlessly, have had NONE of the issues that anyone else has been describing (probably to do with their carriers), I couldn't find a better smart-phone to use! It definitely beats iPhone4 with usability, and out-of-the-box functionality and customisation. Can EASILY achieve +3days battery life with moderate usage. Build quality is very good and has NEVER been an issue in the slightest. Both thumbs up!
Inder, 21 Aug 2010hi there
I m using galaxy s for almost a month now, and had upgraded the firmware from sams... moreI had a similar issue with the market after update.
Although logging in to the market was no problem. I could not get any of the apps to get past the downloading stage.
It was something to do with the google mail address I had.
What I had to do was set up a new google mail address as my main one.
My old one ending in @googlemail.com was the problem, so I had to set one up ending in @gmail.com
The disadvantage is that this had to be my main account, so I lost all the original apps from my original account.
