Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010Dear friend,
USB On the Go is an amazing feature which turns your mobile in to a mobile com... moreThe problem with Nokia is their useless batteries so N8 will not be a "mobile" computer/phone. It is better to buy a Netbook for watching movies, N8 screen is to small for movies, and it is even to small for websurfing.
N8 has a xenon flash, but it can not be used as a videolight. Galaxy S has no flash but if you need a flashn then HTC Desire with Froyo is perfect.
N8 has lost even before it reached the market.
Galaxy awesum. bt waiting 4 N8 having usb on d go with 12mp. I Think smartphone war ends n smart pc war starts what u think??Galaxy rocks
does this phonne has flash support for web browser n a graphix accelerator for 3d gaming?
tictactaylor, 07 Aug 2010the galaxy has a very nice display and super processor. however. having had one for 24 hours ... moreY shame on samsung......bcoz it doesnt drop calls or is it becoz it provides the best display or is it bcoz samsung provides class 12 edge&gprs rather than class 10's in desire, or is it bcoz it has 720p video recordin and viewin rather than 480p,or is it bcoz it has secondary camera or is it bcoz it has bluetooth v 3.0......
Jus get rid of ur samsung so that v dont hav 2 hear frm u again..........
DanTheMan, 07 Aug 2010IMPORTANT QUESTION HERE ! ! ! NEED URGENT HELP
Ok. So here's the situation. I live in Dunmore... moreWhy not wait 'till Sept 12th, when you come to Europe and buy one overhere.
The 8GB version sells for 519 euro and the 16GB version for 569 euro in the Netherlands.
(if you look hard enough you can find it even cheaper)
These are simlock-free phones without a contract, so you can use a sim from a provider of your choice.
I don't know how long you will stay.
But if you stay for a two years (in the Netherlands) and have a home-address, you'll even get the phone for free with a cheap contract (25 euro/month) with Vodafone/T-mobile/Kpn
Germany also has such service plans with Vodafone or T-mobile.
IMPORTANT QUESTION HERE ! ! ! NEED URGENT HELP
Ok. So here's the situation. I live in Dunmore, Pennsylvania but only until september. If I buy the AT&T phone now for 499 $(no agreement) + tax (about 30 $) + a package let's presume 60 $, must have for activating the phone) it'll be about 600 $ overall. That's ok with me, but here's where the problem rises. I have to leave to Europe on 12 of september and I have to have the phone unlocked by then (obviously).
How do i do that ?
How long is it going to take ?
Am i supose to unlock it by myself or is someone responsible for doing it ?
What does the "unlocking" procedure imply ?
In urgent need of advice. Feel free to post any other comment that you think will be useful for me.
Thank you in advance.
i want to know.. if we're using samsung galaxy s, what plan must we get to surf facebook and so on? iphone plan?
Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010Dear friend, USB On the Go is an amazing feature which turns your mobile in to a mobile com... moremost of what you said is stupid. So instead of a pen drive, hot swap micro SD? divx movies on a phone? surely you dont want to carry around a portable hard drive and even then, they need 2 usb ports or 1 usb port and a power adapter. So that renders that useless too. Its a novelty idea although i think usb on the go is not going to work for the simple reason is, there are more practical solutions around
Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010is this phone has a flash support 4 web browsing?how is the downlosd speed?download and web browsing depends mainly on the network although partly by the hardware, am i right? in my area, most carrier offers up to 7.2 mbps download so there's no problem here.
Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010Dear friend,
USB On the Go is an amazing feature which turns your mobile in to a mobile com... moreSo u r sayin that mobile fones which provides additional features are nt mobile phones...........in that way if u look N8 has HDMI port that makes it a portable player nt a fone........it has 12MP camera with Xenon flash that way again its not a phone it should b used as camera........
So N8 mite provide these but please wait till it is reviewed on hand by users.........if it has any hardware issues there goes ur comments with it.......y nt wait till its release........the specs was amazin 4 ip4 2 bt it faild miserably......the specs r gr8 for this so is the review.......if dont like this fone please dont com here go and rite in N8 column.....u do giv impression of u r a fanboy....bt fact always remains fact.........there will b technology that wil put an end to galaxy s bt for nuw and little more time it will b at the top...........accept it or pls go away.......
tictactaylor, 07 Aug 2010the galaxy has a very nice display and super processor. however. having had one for 24 hours ... moreWooww u should actually chase the job as "TESTER".....within 1 day u did so much...........u jus looked at its appearance and gave it away....... C if I were U I would have waited 6 days tops and even then UI nt so good means I would have given it away......I had used IP3G and for me startin 2 use it was as if learnin a new OS......I waited 3 weeks Wi Fi didnt work,GPS wrked bt the set got hot within minutes....so gave it for replacement 2 times then gave it away...............u cant identify everythin within 1 day..........
USB On the Go is an amazing feature which turns your mobile in to a mobile computer...
OK.. Let me describe what it is.. The conventional USB connectors in mobiles are only capable of 'BEING CONNECTED' to a computer as a peripheral... They don't have the capability to act as a USB host... (in other words, they can't identify other peripherals... They only can act itself as a peripheral... That's all..)
But with 'USB On the Go' features, Nokia N8 can act as Both USB peripheral and USB Host...
In other words,
If you connect your mobile phone to your computer, it'll act as a peripheral just like other mobiles do...
If you connect another USB device (such as your pen drive, your portable hard drive or another mobile phone) to your Nokia N8 (using the particular cable for 'USB on the go') then it'll act as a host... (It act as a computer...)
I think everybody could understand what I'm saying.. and Can you imaging the potential of this wonderful feature...?
** You can connect your USB Pen Drive directly to the Nokia N8 and explore the contents.. (You no longer need a computer to exchange files...)
** You can extend the capacity of your mobile by just connecting it to a USB pen drive (let's say with 32 GB capacity) and you can listen to the songs in pen drive directly from your phone as long as two devices are connected... (That means you can extend your Music library up to any capacity...!)
** You can connect your Portable hard drive (let's say 1 TB) with huge lot of Divx movies, to your mobile and can connect your mobile to your HDMI TV and watch movies without the help of your computer... (How does it sound...?)
** If you have another mobile, then you can connect that mobile to your Nokia N8 and exchange files just like you do with your computer...
** Not only above... How about other USB Devices...! Such as USB Mouse, USB Key Boards etc... Though it's not yet declared by Nokia, I'm pretty sure, by the help of 3rd party applications, support for the above devices will also be available with the release of Nokia N8...
Now you see... It's a mobile computer... Nothing else... I don't know why still some people want to compare this unit with Samsung galaxy S or Samsung wave or iphone 4g or what ever it is... This is a Smart Mobile Computer... and above those are just mobile phones... END OF THE STORY...!
the galaxy has a very nice display and super processor. however. having had one for 24 hours only before needing to return to store have major doubts over build quality. mainly case and back cover. my cover had moulding defects. it looked like the paint had dried in a huge blob on corner of rear cover. poor quality control or what? is the screen scratch resistant? the fake metal sides look easy to damage too. ok iphone has too much metal it seems but this phone needs some for durability i think. will get an htc desire as although not such a good screen looks of better construction i feel. shame samsung a great shame!
[deleted post]Depends on ur use dear......wats the purpose???Bt sure SGS is the best option as far as my concern goes
