I am really impressed with this phone...in fact I have fallen in love with it !
What I like best in this phone is of course, the screen (size, resolution, colors, etc.), smooth operation, excellent UI and excellent value for money (I bought it for Indian Rs. 28000, taxes included, in August 2010).
What more do you need :)

People are paying a lot for this sim free or taking out a lengthy contract and its only right to get the best option for that amount. We cant ask for miracles its a camfone but its with you all the time and lots of rare footage or events are recorded on mobiles whereas they would have gone unrecorded in history..

philm, 04 Aug 2010i dont trust samsung to fix the video problem they never did with i8510 and hyperx is sorting ... moreNo i dont own it but i video record often and smartfone essentials mag,,gsmarena ,,you tube videos ALL complain of dropped frames or stutter..its their to see and if it stated on all tests and actually visible in test videos and magazine testers it must happen..Ive had so many fones in past with video judder or dropped frames and as its going to cost 400 quid sim free i want it to work,,we all know samsung for poor after sales service and updates..

Kath, 04 Aug 2010What are you complaining about 'stuttering' video?
Do you actually use a Galaxy S?

Problems I have seen in Galaxy S till date..
==> It cant display the reply of service request(for eg: *123# or *111# etc..)
this will be a problem to check balance.
==>Unlike other mobiles we have to keep this mobile near the ear soon after u dail a call
Coz the display goes off immediatly to save battery and if u keep the
mobile near to ear soon after u dail the numb, it gives 4 to 5 time more
radiation.
==>we cant play the recorded voice in back ground.
Can any one please provide solutions to any of the above problems..
Thanks in advance.

i have been an iphone 3g user for 2 years, I cant live without my phone and i love it. I am looking into the iphone 4 or the galaxy. have done so much research which makes me more confused!
one question i cant find the answer to is...
with the iphone, you can press the on/off button and the home button at once and it takes a screen shot of your iphone, does the galaxy have this same function?
i know its a small thing, but i actually use this alot to copy photos etcetc.

I don't think so because there is absolutely no 'stuttering' or dropped frames in video recording.
I also own an Omnia i8910 with the lates HX7-15 but you can't compare this phone to the Galaxy S.
First it only records at just 24 frames (where the Galaxy S does 30 frames) and second it has a slower processor.
I use the Galaxy S for over four weeks and can assure you there is no better phone on the market at this moment.
I love the iPhone4 for it's design and it's design ONLY!
But hardware specs and the Android OS made me buy the Galaxy S.
After four weeks of intensive use I can only say that I don't regret it for a second :-)
The battery lasts for over a day with very intensive i-net (approx. 4 hours), over 50 push Gmail, some 25 (swyped)sms and approx. 20 min. of calls.
It took 5 ~6 full charges before the battery got it's max. stand-by time though ;-)
For all people complaining about 'bad battery':
Just wait to charge the battery until you get the 'low battery' sign from the phone.
Than charge it to full and you'll get the message.
After 5 ~6 charges the battery has it's max. power!!
[deleted post]I guess no voice search option for India. Even i m looking for it, there are many functions of google which are not for india I guess, such as Voice search and google earth.
