There are oter android phones with similar specifications, but the screen on this phone blows them all away. Also there a tonns of apps available so you wont be dissaponted. Everyone i know with this phone loves it and cant stop playing with it. I work in te industry and i've had 16 phones in the past 4 years and this is the bst by a great distance. I have use the iphone 4 as well and this phone beats it hands down.

I cant remember where i read it specifically, but there is going to be a software fix included within the (official) Froyo update coming in september It may simply be a calibration error in the initial software release. I work in the industry so I keep fairly up to date with this stuff. GPS issues are common and the fixes usually take care of it. Hardware faults on such a major scale are quite rare (cough...cough... apple :) .

But yes i do understand what you mean. there should be a samsung widget that allows you to put a bar on one of you home screens. it has a wifi, blootooth, gps and vigrate button that allow you to switch it on an off really quickly. maybe that might help.
Heey! is it better to purchase this mobile ?
whether it is having flash player or not?
please reply fast.I'm very eager to know about this mobile.
[deleted post]both wave and galaxy i9000 are good phones.it depend on what kind of a phone you prefer.
Advantage - galaxy i9000-android OS,wave-cost effective
disadvantage- galaxy-no flash , wave- some BADA OS.
i recommend u go for galaxy i9000 u'll never regret for buyin this phone.
To be honest i'm not a great fan of samsung phones until i bought this phone last week.this is truly a master piece from sammy.the only drawback is the lack of flash otherwise this's a perfect iphone4killer. Although i find some jerkyness while navigating through UI this is mostly with android 2.1 or touchwiz 3.0 but with froyo update in september it'll just be a history..,
check out the apple user report about galaxy s and apple its hot check out here

I have already done that and still no good. Also I have noticed that when I launch maps etc that need the gps .The gps does not work at all and I have to go into setting and uncheck the gps and then recheck it for it to work.
To me that indicates it has a problem.
Hi. Does anyone know if i could get a control pad for this phone? That would be awesome and would make gameplay on the psx4droid really cool.
Am very upset, few days ago i downloaded snesoid from the android market. I was playing games like moral kombat and killer instincs, i have notice where the transparent directional pad is on the screen has dug in a little, its not affected the beautiful screen in any way its jus that grease gets stuck in that low spot and its reeeealy hard cleanin that bit. When the phone is locked you could see it =( . Has any one else had a similar issue? plz mail @ email@example.com. Thanxs.
does the phone come with pouch its hard to find pouch for this phone...
Surprised and a very good feeling about this phone.
I have a 3gs and love it but wanted to have a bigger screen for browsing the internet.
Oke the iphone 4 is great and yes I checked it but the screen on the galaxy.. ...wow!!
And also Android is a worthy alternative.
I forget the galaxy looks like my other phone the minute I start it up.
Its a great phone and very fast.
I do not seem to have any problems with this phone.
Gps works fast, no black screens,a lot of apps running and still the same speed, battery life more than o.k. and with froyo even flash to make the internet more fun.
This is without a doubt one of the best phones around.
Mike, 03 Aug 2010As a matter of fact i only have original launcher that came with the phone.
I did have Opera ... moreHey Mike,
I've read on a Dutch forum (www.tweakeers.net)there might be a problem also if you have installed a 'Task killer app'
If you did, delete it from the phone, but do a complete factory reset any way!
Regarding to your gps problem, perhaps this is only related to your us provider.
Please have a look at this site:
Perhaps it helps if you change the setting in your phone.
Otherwise just wait 'till the update to Froyo next month because Samsung knows about the gps problem in some cases and is working on it.
As you can read in the comments on the above link there will be an update for the gps as soon as it's available.
john d, 03 Aug 2010I have just gotten a galaxy s off optus in australi and the GPS is faulty. It looks like it is ... morego into your settings. in gps and location services, check the box that says connect to wireless and 3g networks when searching gps. This is how A gps works. the optus version turns this off. When your connected to 3g at the same time, the reciever pinpoints your general location via satelite, then trianglates your exact location via mobile phone towers. Your phone is not faulty, just your settings. hope that helps.
Does anyone here know how to make google navigation using GPS work? it says trying to connect... but never finishes.. Ppl we need to try something that will actually work.
dickson, 02 Aug 2010anyone who own galaxy S know how to close the apps?to kill apps download Advanced task pro from android market.. its good
I have just gotten a galaxy s off optus in australi and the GPS is faulty. It looks like it is an issue with this phone in general
Called Samsung support and was told that the phone was not a dedicated GPS device so not to worry about it.
Well Samsung what a disapointment as the rest of the phone is fine.
