I wish people would stop talking about iPhone killer.
That is sooo 2009.
The iphone now has to come up with an android killer.
Last week I upgraded my HTC hero to an iPhone4. Next week I am going to return it and get the Galaxy S. I have extensively researched, thought about it, played with the Galaxy S in the shops and my iPhone4, and have come to the conclusion that where the iPhone4 is a fantastic but flawed phone, the GalaxyS offers more, and has very few of the limitations, restrictions, and proprietary nonsense one has to put up with on the iPhone.
My new iPhone is pretty smooth, but it is NOT free of occasional laggyness. The screen is darn gorgeous, but then so is the Galaxy S screen, and bigger. The only feature I would want is a camera flash, but then in my basic testing, the iphone4 flash is so weak you would not be able to illuminate a dark dinner table in a group shot... so the uses are very limited.
So, back to android it seems!
K.Hoang, 27 Jun 2010I got this phone that I ordered from Expansys USA today. The clarity and color of the screen b... moreselect to write a message. Tap and hold the text input field. It ll show u "input method". now u can choose swype for keyboard input.
Is there anyway to somehow get HTC's Sense UI on this phone? I know that this is a Samsung phone but I'm just curious because I like the way Sense looks compared to Touchwiz.
arthur, 24 Jun 2010enthu, this phone supports flash(web). but it doesnt have LED flash. just to clear things out.... moreHi Arthur

t-mobile has already announced the phone coming to USA as Samsung Vibrant. see below:
I got this phone that I ordered from Expansys USA today. The clarity and color of the screen blew me away. Waited for 5 weeks and paid $619.99 US for this 8gb version. It worths every minutes and every pennies.
I just can not seem to find the Swype key input for texting. I know it is there but can not get it to work. Can someone help me please?
in my opinion 3 things keep this from beeing the perfect phone at this time:
-because it's the same size as the HD2 i wouldn't have minded a 4.3" screen :)
-a camera flash like the hd2/evo (tho i don't really care about the phone camera but it's nice to know it's there...also as a flashlight)
-a metal backplate would make it feel less plasticky and i wouldn't mind extra 10g for that
But i soooo want this phone still:D

googler, 26 Jun 2010well people??? does it support front facing camera to make video call?Yes it does!
Posted from my wifes galaxy s!
velsarav, 26 Jun 2010Does this support front facing camera to make video call?Depends on your carrier. For example, here in the US, AT&T's version does have a forward-facing camera, while T-Mobile's does not (likely because T-Mobile isn't big on video conferencing). So Samsung's making the Galaxy S both ways.
well people??? does it support front facing camera to make video call?
Shan, 26 Jun 2010Recent Hotest topic is Htc Desire VS Galaxy S, Who win??That's easy, the I9000 Galaxy S
Very positive impression. A myriad of features, and a fantastic screen which you can actually use in daylight.
Some things bother me a bit. No built-in voice calling, a pain to remove contacts, interface can get a bit slow when you run many apps, but that's the downside with multitasking. Wouldn't have it any other way. Battery time is short if you use WIFI and GPS intensivly, just a bit more than a day, which should be enough for most people. A bit thin plastic back side, I'm worried it will break if I drop it (which I don't plan to)
I think the iPhone 4 is going to win at design and durability, since it's glass and steel, but everything else is better (apart from the app repository, I guess) with the I9000
6.5 millio in indonesia, dude i just bought one only cost 5.7millio, greedy. phone is fantastic, thin and fast. no led, i wish they put led. battery also worse, other then that, is a very dandy phone.
estimated price range for indonesia are 5-6 millio.
All the manufacturers building custom UI are actually disadvantaging themselves. Whatever they do with Anroid they should do it as applications and should always but always allow upgrade to plain Android version.
It is apparent that Google will release new Android version every 2-3 months and people will not tolerate handsets lagging behind, see Xperia if you need an example.
Also I find Google's policy of Android outrageous. You do not even know what is in the pipeline let alone have a say on it or contributing to it. It should be real open source and open to everybody during development so that App developers and manufacturers can prepare their products for the new version.
I cannot see all the manufacturer's being happy with Googles grip on Android hence you have Bada, MeeGo, SymbianX and maybe another chance for Windows comeback.
