Just to be clear im not a smartphone fan, but when i have time i want to know more about the thing that will be in my pocket for 1 year.Iphone 4 is if u want perfection, many apps , some sort of open source ( jailbraking ), no lagging , nice animations, and for more simplicity.Samsung galaxy s ( i9000 ) is for less apps (but u get 30 % of the apps that the iphone has ) more open development , complicity on a nice lvl , right out of the box supp for many things.
The samsung galaxy s CPU is 18 % more powerful than the A4 google it.Still ,,they share same brain,, .

Hi SGS owners
I do understand that SGS does not support flash.
Can someone comment on how the good the camera is for taking pictures under:
1) Outdoor conditions - sunlight
2) Indoor low-light conditions.
Same questions for Video recording.
Thx in advance !!
Anonymous, 24 Jun 2010wat is its msg memory??? is it lik other samsung phone, 250 inbox n 250 sent only?? or does it... morelol, i think only low-end phones have a message limit. High-end phones allow you to store to phone memory and move them. This will definately allow you to store more tahn 250 messages. My samsung omnia can store an infinite amount of messages, and that device is 2 years old
wat is its msg memory??? is it lik other samsung phone, 250 inbox n 250 sent only?? or does it go into the phone memory?? thts the main reason m trading my samsung star 3g.. i cn only store 250 msgs in the inbox n i hv no option to transfer them to the memory card or the phone memory.. thts really sad!!
Hello everyone, I am interested in buying the phone in India. How is the experience from expansys.com ? and does it come with a warranty ?
2 days with Galaxy S and I just love it more and more.
Today Youtube did'nt lagg :0)
I've downloaded lots of free apps from androidmarket and they're all great!!
The display is much better than Nokia 5800, Nokia N97 and Samsung Omnia HD (got them all). On the other U can see every fingerprints, but U can hardly see at all that I used Galaxy S!!
Great sound, easy to handle, lots of functions that my other touch mobiles don't have and I couldn't be more satisfied with it!! Batterytime ok, about 24 hours with lots of downloads, long time phonecalls etc etc etc. I can really recommend U to buy Galaxy S :0)

I'm an Indian too (from Bangalore, to be more specific) and am planning to buy this phone from either clove.co.uk or expansys.com.
Thing is, when I chose India as the country in the shipping address, the VAT was dropped from the total amount. So my question is, will the DHL courier arrive directly at my doorstep without any hassle, or will I have to pay customs/taxes anywhere in India before I can get my package delivered?
Thanks a lot for anyone who can answer this question. Cheers :)

Well there were reports of it being quite quiet - but actually the loudspeaker is pretty loud - certainly you'd hear it in a crowded pub...
It is on the back, and yes, and I guess like many phones, if placed on a soft surface it would be muffled...

If back then I think there might be a problem with the loudness when the phone is laid on soft materials?
Thanks in anticipation of your reply.
Hey you crazy kids!
Just thought I'd give you all an update - in particular about the battery!!
Well, 3rd day using it now, and yesterday I put the "power saving mode" on as well as the "automated backlight" - and stopped using live wallpapers... and it dramatically increases the battery life...
I used it quite a bit sorting out contacts (if you need tips on how to transfer numbers using backup pro / google / facebook and then adding them actually onto the 'phone' - without doing it, you can't create groups or assign ringtones, etc.!
I used it for 2 hours music / radio - sorted out and linked loads of contacts, downloaded apps, generally messed with it (I had updates going on FB / Twit / Email, etc.)
And it was about 35% by 6pm-ish...
In order to run it down completely - I managed to watch most of 'up' in HD (or had it running whilst doing other things) and then increase contrast until it truly died...
I do think several charges has helped, and definitely the auto-power feature...
And yes, you don't need the contrast on full brightness for the screen to look lovely (but it's nice to increase it when showing it off to people!!)
So... all in all - disaster averted - I noticed someone, somewhere put that the X10's screen is better than Galaxy S in sunlight - trust me - it isn't - I've seen BOTH in real life (not just a video) and nothing compares to the Samsung...
Totally and utterly impressed with this phone - I was a bit sceptical at first (like many) and I'll be even happier with the Froyo update (even more RAM to play with according to everyone on here!)
2 quick questions for anyone!!!
1. Is there a way of overriding the "low battery" feature - and still use apps until it does run out?
2. Does anyone know of a decent silicone / hard case for it and where to get one? (UK) It's slim enough to be able to fit into a case and still be very very usable (I'll probably get a screen protector too!!)
Thanks everyone for input and comments - I'll be checking this section periodically so any questions you want answering - just ask!
