You wouldn't expect a trusted web site to be infected with Malware until you consider who owns the site. If Google allow Malware onto the app market then it comes as no surprise to me that YouTube has the same problem.
As for your Nokia problem. The only way to get it SIM unlocked is through the network as they're the only ones who can generate the unlock code. You could try flashing it with a generic firmware using Phoenix service software but there's no guarantee that would work and runs a high risk of bricking your phone. Your best bet is to keep on at the network to supply the correct code but if you enter the wrong three times it becomes permanently locked and only Nokia can reset it.
does anyone know if flashing my nokia phone would unlock it, and similarly if flashing unlocks any phone...debrands it etc
( my network and nokia couldnt provide correct codes to unlock it).

I actually got malware on my xperia mini from you tube of all things. I couldnt believe it came from there so I did a search and found it on wikipedia all about " you tube malware" and all the spamming issues on you tube, plus obvious suspicious links posted under videos. All I did was click on some video, and then for over a day my phone had reload in the browser and just reloaded you tube over and over again rendering it useless. This only happened when I tried to access yt from my phone browser. It took about 5 Factory resets to sort out.

The best place to go for flashing guides and custom ROMs is always going to be the XDA developers site. You will find absolutely everything you will ever need for your Galaxy S over there. To get you started with updating to ICS please follow the link below.
Be aware though, I have tried ICS on my Galaxy S and was less than impressed. I don't think I even left it on for an hour before flashing back to stock.
All the best.
Hello everyone. I want to upgrade my SGS1 to ICS. However, I am unaware of the entire process. Can anyone of you guide me an end to end process from rooting to installing ICS in SGS1.
I have seen quite a few videos on youtube but couldnt manage to see a video which tells an end to end process. Please let me know. Stay blessed.

Good for you. One of the articles I linked to was PC World and it explained about Malware infiltrating the Google Play Shop (formerly known as the Android market). Google have acknowledged that the market has been infected in the past and have implemented a scanner to prevent any further infiltrations. None of this is a marketing ploy in my opinion, but genuine known facts.
If we were talking about the Symbian OS, that would be a different story as there are no viruses for the Symbian ^3 OS. Any other piece of malware that might still exist is near on impossible to affect S^3 phones due to Symbians own built in security features.
All the best.

I have never ever had any malware on my Android and none of my freinds have ever had any malware on their Androids! It is only in articles often initiated by Symantec or some other "anti"-malware company that I read how very dangerous Android is! I have an AntiMalware from AVG on my Android but it have never found any malware at all! I have an AntiVirus...-software on my Laptop but it have never ever found any virus...!

Only root your phone if you understand what it's uses are and if you you need root for a particular reason. Bear in mind that rooting your phone will invalidate the warranty.
Kies is the official way to update the phone and you should be able to update yours via Kies. However, that is dependant on a number of things including your network carrier and whether you have the latest version of Kies. You may need to disable any security software on your PC before you can update the phone.
