this phone already comes with a "gingerbread ready" hardware and m sure it'll sell more than the galaxy 3 or 5... which already have been given a future FroYo promise from samsung

one thing i dont like is that its being sold in the market by the name of Galaxy S...

But anyways its a good value for money phone with the "arm 1 ghz processor, HD recording", and some retailers in India even selling it in between 18,500-19,500 INR

15 k would have been a good price for this phone given the specs, however a good phone if u are not a robust user ,however if one who is lookin to buy the i9000 need not compromise with this as i9000 is available in the market in almost all shops, it will be available until galaxy s II is released , so grab yours before stock runs out , and if galaxy s II is in your mind , increase your budget by around 5 k over galaxy S!

Kunal SIngh , can you calm down and stop confusing the people??? Pls dont talk as if your the authorised person of samsung electronics, If people dont know how to deal with tweaking a mobile its purely their fault, some may succeed in the 1st attempt and some may not. You cant blame a beautiful piece of hardware for that. Hope people understand the fact here.

And one more
i9003 can be successfully rooted with superoneclick and it works.
Regarding support this mobile is barely a month old in indian market, it will take time to get customizations

First of all, DO NOT ROOT YOUR PHONE. This is not a i9000, it is an i9003. The two phones may be similar in specs, but have very different file systems running especially because of the variation in graphics processor. If you try to root your phone, there is a high chance you will BRICK (crash/wipe out/lock) it. Even if you don't brick it by rooting, you will end up bricking it when you try to install a custom ROM or anything else.

Secondly, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. There is very little support for this phone, and Samsung has admitted very few numbers were sold. Therefore this phone will NEVER receive any updates. So if you want Gingerbread, this phone will never receive it. But i9000 is already having the 2.3 Gingerbread update! Also, if something goes wrong with your phone.. it will be very expensive and very slow to get it fixed at Samsung service centers.

i9000 is now available for only 22,400. It is an excellent deal, and you are getting a piece that will last you a long time. i9003 is a real waste of money and you cannot expect it to get any new software or something like that. Even if you want a cover for the phone, or screen protector, you cannot buy it anywhere because they don't make protective covers/bags/pouches for the i9003!

i have mine for a week now, im not a heavy user, just the usual sms, and web browsing/app downloading on weekends, somepics and a 30 minutes of gaming. I was trying to see how many days will the battery lasts. I used it monday until Thursday morning. That to me is good. And i think people having doubts over no SAMOLED should buy it now. Decent price, i wanted the original Galaxy S too but, no more stocks plus very expensive. Not to mention if i find one nowadays, it might not be brand new but sold as one. I'll post more review of my phone. So far i love it. I'm still observing it.

I have a few question before I get my i9003. I wanted the i9000 but my budget's a lil tight.

1. so does samsung i9003 really have gorilla glass?

2. i'm not really that of a heavy user i'll mainly use it for sms and sometime the internet. having almost every settings (e.g. gps, bluetooth, wifi*when not using internet*) how long will the battery last? coz i've been reading bad reviews about the battery that it only last for 2-3 hours. I dont know how they use their cellphones but it's kinda hard for me to grasp a cellphone's battery only lasting 2-3 hours. thanks
