DXIA5 First Impressions
1. Processor seems to be working doubly hard as the back of my phone (below the battery is warmer compared to the DXHJ1.
2. Unread message counter on my home screen stopped working (note that I am using SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Skins).
3. Battery life looks a bit better than DXHJ1.
If I do a reformat, will the ROM revert to the previous one?
Imurana, 06 Aug 2009How can i improve my keyboard letters to be bigger than what i have now. I have the smaller ones. When it comes to making it bigger I guess there is no way because it is designed to fit in the screen. If you are using the qwerty keys then I suggest you switch to a multi-tap one like the Samsung Keypad or the Samsung Phonepad. If you like qwerty keyboard that is easy enough to use then try using Resco's. I personally like the Samsung Keypad (qw|er|ty).

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2009Shadrack,
Please this my version of phone
Iam having proble... moreHi Anonymous,
Jin and Shadrach are two different individuals. Jin is our expert here while I (Shadrach) is just a geek who's new into windows mobile LOL. ANyway, your phone version says i908...where are you from and who's your carrier? Usually it's just i900 or i910. And I see you're using a ROM version that's somewhat old. If flashing/upgrading your camera didn't work, then I think you need a full ROM upgrade. Hard resets work too y'know. Just remember the risks of both a ROM upgrade and a hard reset. To check for ROM updates for your country you can go to samsungmobile.com
Oh, and BTW, Anonymous, please put a name when you post. There are a lot of people posting and it's pretty hard to track who's got what problem. :)

Hi i need your deep exp.in Omnia :
1)can i upgrade my omnia's camera without doing ... moreIt's the hard reset that you really want to avoid since it clear up all your settings and your files. Anyway, why do you want to upgrade your camera? there are settings out there that makes the camera a lot better. Go to this www.careace.net to find out more.
ann, 05 Aug 2009thanks for the reply Jin, but that was already the setting i have for my phone both for my con... moreHi ann,
I used get that error only if I get a ghost wifi connection. Have you verified the wifi connection by using a different device like a laptop or another handheld? Sometimes, wifi routers are configured in a way that even if you know the encryption key, the router needs to be configured to accept your device's mac address (this is usually done by the people who want extra security). I am thinking that what you probably have there is either a ghost connection or you may need to restore factory settings (hard reset) in your phone (which is really a pain in the @$$ since you'll need to reinstall everything). Doing a hardware-based hard reset though will only reset settings in the phone memory (it will not reset your 8/16GB storage and your MicroSD).
Jin Madera, 05 Aug 2009im done with that eagerness in changing the ani_on and the power_on but i dont have encounter ... moreHey Jin, I see you're learning to be a cook eh? kakaka! cooking ROMs is nice but it requires a lot of time (which I don't really have) so what I do is just read through modaco or samsung-omnia.org for any cooked ROMs that are good. Though I haven't really tried loading some kasi I am still okay with the performance of my phone. If I need to get it faster or whatever then that's the time i'll try to load cooked ones...or maybe cook one myself. Registry tweaks help in making the UX (User eXperience) a lot better depending on your preference. I haven't used my stylus for a long time now and that is because of the tweaks which makes thing easier like better touch sensitivity, bigger fonts, bigger scrollbars, you can even disable the threaded messaging through the registry...
The dangers are present though..it's like loading a faulty ROM, but there are sure ways on how to restore factory settings even if you cannot boot up.
The registry tweaks are pretty easy if you already have an understanding of the windows registry (pretty much the same with any windows PC). I'll post some nice tweaks as I implement them.

maybe this one will help you to surf via wifi...
Setup Wi-Fi on your Omnia
You need to setup your Wi-Fi network before you can use it on your Omnia for surfing the internet.
Configure Wireless Network
Click on the Search for Network(Fig 1) and it will search for the Wi-Fi Network within range of the Omnia. After the Access Point(Fig 2) are found, click on your Network Access Point Name.
It will prompt you to configure your Wireless Network. You should see your Access Point Name(Fig 3) in the Network name. Choose The Internet in the drop down box for Connects to: section. Click on Next.
Configure Network Authentication
In the Authentication(Fig 4) set it to Open in the drop down box. My Network is protected by the WEP Key and therefore I will choose WEP in Data Encryption. If your network is not secured, you will choose Disabled in the Data Encryption.
Ensure the check box for The key is automatically provided is unchecked. You will then be able to enter your WEP Key in the Network Key Box. Choose 1 for the Key index.
For Secure Network, you can only choose WEP Key for security in order for Omnia to use your Wi-Fi Network.
Click on Next.
You do not need to check the box for
Use IEEE 802.1x network access control
Click on Finish.
It will connect to your Wi-Fi Network. It will show Connected beside your Access Point Name if successful. You can now start surfing your Omnia using the Wi-Fi Network
