The only answer i have for the blank screen you are getting is maybe because you havent change the settings concerning a "sleeping mode" so to speak. There is a setting that actually turns the Omnia off, after not using it for a certain time period. To turn it back on you have to press the hard button and wait while it "wakes up"

Explore the phone some more, and check the settings for the screen (Cant really remember which one itson, but explore a bit more). If that doesnt solve it... then i don't know what else the problem could be

                    to jaddy

buy omnia at samsung stores, it is not locked to any network, it's open line, then have its rom upgraded at samsung service center in greenhills, the building in front of viramall across ortigas.

mine's rom version is hk3 and it's great

                      Hi there

Does anyone have a problem regarding a blank screen. Im on my second Omnia and sending it back due to a problem of the screen not working after charging and on random occaisions. Th ephone is still on but the screen is completely blank and the only way to rectify is by resetting or switching the phone off and on. Im considering changing for a different phone all together but I really like the omnia. ANy advice regarding this matter?

KK, 02 Mar 2009Hey Tif Tif, Thanks....So can i get it done from Singapore???..Cos these ppl over here dont... moreWell I'd assume there would be someone over in Singapore who would know how to fix and operate your omnia..
As for the ring tones do actaully have music like a song, when my omnia rings its quiet at first aswell but it takes only about 3 secs before it becomes loud and stays loud I have mine set to Vibrate and Ring so yea I think that just maybe the phone which is abit of a bummer really..

Now for Your memory, are you saving everything to My Documents??? Coz if so thats a bad thing, My Documents is actually the Phone's memory and not the 8GB, make sure if you want to have alot of free space save anything and everything you possibly can to the My Storage folder, I do and my phone never runs low on memory or is never slow, so yea I dont know if this answers your question,
If it does not eleborate the question a little more,

(Im having a bit a slow today sorry ^_^)

omnia user , 03 Mar 2009help! when im texting..i find d letters small...how can i configure it? i want it large enough... moreTo make the letters abit bigger you could always try changing it form the qwerty style to the actual phone pad on the screen, or the other alternative is to have the phone settings switched on to where you can turn it on its side and the screen will go to landscape and the qwerty letters become a tad bigger,

                              Hope this helps you

I need some help in choosing between the Omnia and M8800. Can any users give some suggestions?
                                  Here is a little background:
I use these phone as entertainment, so the win mobile doesn't really matter for me.

The Second question is HAS the lastest firmware for i900 fix most of the bugs ex: memory, black screen, etc.

Thanks in advance for advice and answers

Furthermore i believe that its the time for Samsung to launch one or two phones (smartphones i think) with qwerty like Samsung F700. And if Samsung managed to make F700 in 2007 im sure that in 2009 they can make a very slim full-qwerty mobile phone with excellent features.

If you tell that this phone is bad you're wrong because it is made about one year before while its enemies Touch HD, N97 and Xperia were made some months ago. I believe that the Omnia HD isnt the real successor of Omnia (i900) but this will come by Samsung in the end of this year maybe named i9000 with windows 6.5 or 7, 3.8inches, new widgets, 8Megapixels, 32Giga plus microSD.

This phone is much better than SE Xperia. The stylus is better and the screen is better in touch. Also in some countries (like Greece) Xperia has not (at least, yet) translate the windows in the native language. Omnia-Xperia 3-0.
