How is this better than the iPhone? I don't get it I really don't. It's awkward to use and the specs aren't that impressive tbh.

Omnia is still the 'King of All the Mobile Phones', even if HTC introduced its MAX 4G and Nokia released their N97 (well, N96 is much profound). In layman's term, it is called Omnia because of its omnipotence. It is the only unit that packed gargantuan storages, awesome camera, Windows application, GPS, handwriting interface, miniminalization etc. in one piece..

ZeS, 13 Dec 2008Hi, This question goes out to former(or still) nokia/symbian users who are using omnia now.... moreDear ZeS,

Well, my opinion is that ones you have a modern Symbian phone, you will not be that happy with a windows mobile phone. It is slowwwww and not really handy to use! This, in combination with a full touch screen, no hand writhing recognition (only in English, tiny) an a no-build-in stylus were for me the main reasons to switch over to the Nokia E71.
My personal advise is to stay with a Symbian phone!!! I think you will be very disappointed by windows mobile and a full touch screen.

About the software, yes it is a bit more easy to find software for windows. But when you search good, you can find plenty Symbian software. This should not be a
decisive point. As said, windows mobile and a full touch screen will be more important to choose for this phone.

In principle there is nothing wrong with this phone, beside the points mentioned before.

Good luck with making the right choice. Best regards, Jason.

              Hi,

This question goes out to former(or still) nokia/symbian users who are using omnia now.im using a n82 now and not so willing to part with it.

-can someone tell me the pros and cons of switching from symbian to winmo
-are the softwares easy to find like symbian?

              Thanks in advance.

I moved from E90 (I still love it & have retained it) to the Omnia recently.
                Cons:
Okay phone with decent graphics - miles to go to match i-phone. Not too good battery life - needs recharge almost daily even with limited use (30 minutes talk, 30 minutes browsing, mail downloads thrice a day, no snaps/ videos).
Display resolution should have been better.
No facility to transfer video recorded in mobile to pc through bluetooth, (was able to transfer photos but not video. If there be one to transfer video, can anyone help on it)
Mails integrated with sms - not too user friendly (maybe I have yet to come to terms with it).
                Pros:
                Responsive, decent camera for 5mp.
                Good memory capacity.
                Light in weight.
                Good display size.
Overall: I find E90 to be better than with the Omnia.

This i900 Omnia does have WiFi.
Those who doesn't have might not be this phone, it could be F480.

I still dont understand why the people at Samsung enter a field which is really not their specialty. The spec sheet is impressive, but its really not a very good device. My main problems with it is the hardware scroll key, its really a very stupid design and not practical at all , very difficult to scroll through pages. Second problem is its 5MP camera, which fools u into thinking it must be good. actually its terrible, specially if u use the flash. I think its best for samsung to stick to their clam shell phones and leave the Winmo market to HTC, Asus and HP
