Ian, 07 Dec 2008Does anyone know how to set the ringing volume so that it doesnt start soft and then increase?... moreIt is a bug in Omnia, the sound starts low then 3 seconds later steps up to normal. I asked others who have Omnia, their phones are same. What I ended up doing is modifying the ringtone mp3 file, inserted 3 seconds of silence in front.
Forget changing the setting, it would not help
A nightmare! I bought an Omnia i900 three days ago (using nokias for the last 5 years): I still have not managed to transfer my phone book (not to dare hope anything about transferring old messages and pictures)!
The manual they give you is H O P E L E S S and the whole setup is highly counter-intuitive!
Everything in the phone is designed around Windows so Linux users can go screw themselfs!
used this phone before .. not user friendly at all.. Used only 4mths and change.. Camera wise not good at all n dosent seems like 5mega.. 1.3mega more clearer.. sometimes hangs .. So my recommendation out of 10 .. i will give just 2 .. So guys out there whom interest in this phone my suggest is get other phone n dun waste money like me .... Regret totally ...

Ian, 07 Dec 2008Does anyone know how to set the ringing volume so that it doesnt start soft and then increase?... moreGo to settings, then Sounds and notifications, then go to the Notifications tab. In that window, select your desired option from 'Ring type' drop down menu
Does anyone know how to set the ringing volume so that it doesnt start soft and then increase? Ive got the phone set on melody. Also, the earpiece volume starts off soft for the first ring, and then increases. How can i de-activate this feature???

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2008ur opinion is pointless. the screen has 240x400 resolution. If u think this screen is useless,... moreI think the only thing the Omnia doesn't satisfy people with is that it doesn't offer free internet to make free I.P. Calls over Skype with. Dang, if only that could be built into a phone. The the omnia would be perfect, O.K. And I suppose it could do with a 640X800 screen resolution, hint hint... But as long as the touch screen doesn't give trouble like the HTC touch, I'd love to own an Omnia.... Dang nothing much more required... If it had female parts I'd even trade my wife for one.
hi every body
does any body know haw can i change the ring of alarm clock?
Can anyone tell me where can I get applications & games for this phone plz?
mat u may 1 to off u wifi or blue tooth when not using n the most important is not to let it overheat!!
omnia battery may overheat after charging take out the battery let it cool down for abt 5 mins so the phone will not continuing overheating thus the phone wont feel hot and battery life will not use up in a day.
kdx, 28 Nov 2008omnia battery life rox. it last me for about 5 days.KDX, you'd better share your secret, 5days are you for real? How much do you use your OMNIA? I spend at least an hour a day on calls, do a couple of smss. Log onto net for about an hour a day and my battery lasts 14 hours, as opposed to the 500hours Samsung advertised. I'm running SPB Mobile Shell, black theme and phone is stunning otherwise. Even with the incorrect specs, Samsung have really impressed me this time.
Pheash, 06 Dec 2008Everybody,don't forget GMARENA latest news about AT&T will change the away of mobile OS from W... moreDear Pheash,
Yes, I have read that Symbian is preferable over Windows Mobile and I agree! WM is far from optimal, it is very slow and unfriendly to use. It also requires a lot of memmory. The very bad quality of Windows Mobile is one of the main reasons (together with the full touch screen and a no build-in stylus) that I will buy a Nokia E71. The Omnia was not the right choise for me and I think the Nokia E71 will do much better!
